Hi I'm on 20ml of meth been on it for 10yrs the most I was on is 40ml I'm droping 5ml a month & I'm fine, I have always Double Dunted my sundays as meth was my drug of choice But unlike folk who go on meth & see it as helpful I don't I now hate the stuff so my goal is to go to 15ml & go on either subutex or suboxone my questions are 1 has anyone transitioned from 15ml to subs? & will I rattle & for how long BTW I'm a guy don't know why its saying I'm female lol

Also I am looking into longterm aftercare as at the moment I'm just concentrating on getting off the green juice

Nope over here iv done this all myself I went to my worker told him to drop me 5ml a month till I get to 15ml or 10ml if I need to drop 2ml then I will my worker thinks iv got my plan sorted drop my meth then subs for 3months & valium for a few weeks other than that I know F all about subs apart from some folk swear by them others hate them I did the lofexodine detox yrs ago & found it ok then got put on naltrexone that killed me so I'm thinking subutex for me IF I can drop right off meth I will try that subs over here is not a drug people buy Not that I know anyway, iv just been left to it from the Workers end its me that's finding help,  I have always stayed out of the drug scene Meth is my doc & I'm just sick of it some folks are happy with it I'm not one of them I feel I can't move forward till I'm clean its been a looooooong time coming on my part & I'm at a place in life where I can move forward or stay in the same place iv been for 18yrs Its not an option for me to stay on meth (my choice) I know in my heart of hearts My time is now. Also is there anything I should start doing now to help me when the detox happens? I take multi -vits. Iv got vit D don't need them yet started to drink water is there anything else??

I get it, getting off methadone was a nightmare. I did a 20 day sub taper to detox. I tried to taper and kept failing, I was going too fast. Okay, what subs did for me. They gave me a period of clarity to form a strong aftercare and the mental strength to follow through. Scandinavia has the highest amount of illicit sub use in the world. The merry-go-round is a real potential issue, you will meet more people with subs in your recovery. Not saying it will happen to you, just want you to be aware. I had withdrawals from the methadone after the subs wore off. I would have done more like a 3 month sub taper had I known what was coming. I think a methadone taper is best, but understand how difficult that can be. CT off methadone is a very tough ride, ask Vicki. So, has your doctor discussed dosage and schedule? What's the sunny Scottish program like?

Also I may sound dumb but I see a lot of people say 20mg is that the same as 20ml & is 5mg of the methadone tablet the same as 5mg of liquid?? As I see people talk about Mg instead of ML & meth tablets as opposed to liquid

Thanx I just feel like I need some sort of security when I stop I have thought about just cutting down to 0mls I will wait and see nearer the time as I'm only go on subs when I can't cut down anymore & as its a detox script I don't feel like for me anyway its a merry go round the end justifies the means in this case I'm not wanting to mess this up I'm going all the way one way or another I will be free of this ball n chain, I know I'm going suffer one way but the easiest ways the best (for me) as I can Not handle WD for to long But I'm prepared for it this time

Hi I was on the Methadone with 2 other meds for over 12years..I am no young chic so I got from a very high does down to 30 mgs and went c/t..You are on a low dose at 15 then go down bit more..Why not just taper from the drug you are on..People think that there is no w/ds from the Subs but there is..Maybe a bit milder but heck if you just taper from the dones I think from my experience you will get clean sooner..You do what you feel is right but for me I was not going to go on the merry-go-round from one drug to another..This is just from my experience.I tyed the Subs for a four days and made the mistake of it not being a longer process..Plus I did not care for it..I wish you the Best on this Journey..How ever you do it you will come out a winner...

Thanx its a 3month detox I'm in sunny scotland and its the only detox I think will work for me iv tried others I got told from others at 30ml it ok but at 15 its a lot easier I think they give u subs& vals for 3months Yip its my life & where I'm from Drugs workers would rather us stay on meth (its cheaper than subs) I'm in the right frame of mind my heart willpower & mind are at one now this is my time & I'm making sure I get this right as iv fcked up so many times before this is the lowest dose iv ever been on I'm excited & ******** maself as well.  So r u off meth ? How did u do it? Opps my plan is in motion I'm changing the way I think ( the worlds not against me anymore lol) positive thinking I'm following through with things instead of ignoring them I'm going to start running again keeping active and I'm off on hols for a week then I'm going on subs so it should be 15ml-10ml by then

Methadone became my Drug of choice also. Damn near killed me. I was taking 150-250mg, but I used Subutex for 20 days to get off it. At 15ml, it will likely take about 48 hrs to reach moderate WD on the COW scale for induction. What is your plan? How long do you plan to take subs? The Suboxone/Subutex FAQs at the bottom of this page has some good info. I found it crucial to double check my sub doctors info and advice. For example, he told me I needed to take subs for 2 yrs, if I wanted them to work. Not true, and bad advice for my situation. Be careful, it's your life we are talking about here.
