Cold??? I'm freezing inside.

I'm on day 8 and I've heard others say that they still get chills. What's up with that?  How long will it last?

Boy that's the truth about 1 turning into 180 or 1800!  That's the nature of addiction. It definitely gets better. Day 8 at work wasn't that bad. We have the same problem (it may be intentional actually) with it being like 67 in the office. Talk about stupid. In really really worn out now after cooking dinner and taking another walk. I REALLY need sleep tonight!

You know, it almost seems funny, especially in the middle of summer.  People at work don't know that I relapsed and that I have been wearing a jacket because I am cold the past week or so.  However, the air conditioning is screwed up in my area and my office is typically 65-66 degrees.  I keep my house at 78 - grew up in AZ, so that was cool.  People laugh at me, but I too go outside for a walk in the heat to thaw out.  Actually have been feeling a little better the last couple of days, but it is amazing what a few hot relaxing days at the beach can do for you.  Oh, and congrats on the 17 days.  You should really be on the downhill swing now.  Time for some aftercare work so you can stay clean.  I stopped working my program and relapsed  - though one would not hurt - that turned into 180 pills later.....you know the drill.

Sal- that's right you did say that. I wasn sure what is the cause of this. It's not terrible and I took a walk outside to warm up. None the less, it is annoying. I'm glad to hear that things will get better. I feel much better and want to stay busy at work.

I am on day 17.  One week ago today I was pretty much in the same shoes you are right now and I wore a fleece all last week at work.  Today was the first day I didn't need it.  Just some perspective for you.  I feel night-and-day difference from the beginning of last week to now.

Week 2 is not easy, but I think its the most transitional week of the detox. It is a mental grind so its important to remind yourself that you are healing. Your sleep will start improving daily, and your malaise will slowly start to lift.  Trust me when I tell you, better days are ahead...

Congrats on 8 days clean!!!  Keep it going~~

This is what I was talking about in one of my most recent posts to you.  Depending on how much you were using and length of time, the coldness can last a week or even mich longer.  It only lasted a couple of days here recently, but when I detoxed off suboxone a couple of years ago after 4 years of use, it lasted about 3 weeks.  I used a space heater under my desk and wore long sleeves or a light jacket.  People I worked with knew what was going on, so I did not need to hide it.  You will find it goes away as fast as it started.  This is part of the healing process.  Take it in stride.
