Concerns Of Vicodin Es

I have very bad teeth and can not afford to go to the dentist except when it gets so bad I half to get it pulled and go get help from an org. to help pay, but I have been taking One Vicodin es a day for about a year now and I had one doctor tell me if I take it before the pain starts then it won't get as bad as having to go to the ER and having to get a shot and I have panic attacks so I'm scared to take more than one and sometimes I half to take two in one day if my tooth is bad and it scares me because I have been hearing all this about getting addicted to them , what are my chances of withdrawl if I was to stop? My husband is getting his back pay on his va because he is disabled and very sick so I plan to get all my teeth fixed soon, but I'm scared of what I have been reading on this addiction.. Can you help??

I re read bizzies post and are you sitting down?   tom, she was only taking one a day......thought that may add to the effect...and by no means are we laughing at you Bizzie,,,,I'm sure you were concerned about wd's after reading this forum but some have had an addiction to vics that exceeded 50 pills a day....do you see my point hon?  I hope so   God Bless you and keep posting let us know how things are going...the only thing I may be concerned about is that you would increase your meds to a much higher dose due to increase in tolerance......love cindi

It is just like cindy says(in effect/Affect),the more you take and the longer you take it(Opioids-,ie,`Hydrocodone`),the more addicted and worse your withdrawals are,you will be fine to `come off` your dose(stop taking), it is easy for 99% of us,maybe you will freak out?,if you do, look for masking, is it really the drug? or something else?.
Otherwise no problems(but think deeply if problem, do not blame drug-LOOK BEYOND) you have real easy time giving up on that dose>>>>>>>>>>>>.DO IT>.

Generally, if you use the Vics as directed, i.e., 1 every 4 to 6 hrs for only a few weeks (or months), the worst that will probably happen is that you'll have a feeling of vague unease, mild limb aches, insomnia and, at worst, some outright craving for taking more. The danger zone is when you start taking them solely to get high and increase the dose indefinately to keep achieving that hi.

Good luck.

Hi, I see where you may be concerned about addiction/withdrawals from reading this board but I don't think you really have anything to worry about if you have been taking one a day and sometimes maybe 2...that is a very minute amount...IF and that is a very big IF you would experience a type of withdrawal it would be so minor you may not even know it is a withdrawal symptom,  maybe a little bit of sweating or something like that,  maybe the best one's to answer would be Thomas or Spook....I hope I have helped a little bit Good luck  I know theeth pain can be very painful and really annoying....nothing worse than a toothache that is contstantly throbbing, well, maybe labor.......Happy Easter    Cindi
