Cravings Blow!

It's so crazy how all of a sudden a craving can happen so fast. I have learned that we always have to keep our guard up and be ready for them, but when a craving happens the mind changes, well mine does. This craving hit so fast and I feel guilty for thinking about dope, but I thought it would be better to post and whine then to let this craving grow to a point where there is no turning back. I will not use and will let myself suffer till this passes, I just wanted to complain cause it makes me feel better lol.

It does not matter if we have a day clean or a year, for those of you that can admit to being an addict, cravings do happen and we have to learn how to fight through them. I want to make my 3 months again and I am so close. This anxiety s ucks and I need a punching bag right now haha. This too shall pass, but it's not easy right now. For anyone craving right now, lets fight through this and remember how great life is clean. Drugs suck, cravings suck, but we all have the choice to work through it. I am trying, but I feel sick. Please let this craving pass, PLEASE.

Hang in there buddy. You are fighting like crazy and I know you will continue the fight. It won't be too much longer and you'll be able to lay down for the evening. You said normally the craving is gone the next day so there is no way it will last 3 days in a row. You'll wake up tomorrow and can put this craving behind you. It will just make you that much stronger and hopefully make any cravings in the future a bit easier to deal with.

You know you can fight through this because you've already been fighting like crazy the last day and half. Look how far you've made it thus far? We are all pulling for you and know you will make it through. If a bunch of people online that you have never met have faith in you and know you can push through this craving you know you know you can do this.

I'm proud of you for coming on here and posting for support. We have to do all we can in order to keep racking up the clean days.

I too just go hit with a craving. I was out in my wood shop and had the table saw running so didn't hear my phone. I just noticed a few minutes ago that my dealer called. I deleted his number over 10 months ago but it's hard to forget a number that I had called a million times. I'm not sure if he called me on accident because he had respected my decision to stop using and I haven't heard from him since. But it doesn't matter why he called all it takes is seeing those seven numbers to remind me of my using days. Luckily I have no desire to ever touch one again. I can't imagine what you go through when a craving hits and it makes me realize how strong willed you are. If you can make it through the horrible cravings you go through due to your doc I know I can make it through mine. Thanks to you I'm able to continue on with winning the fight.

Keep inspiring people like you always do Chris. We can all live clean if we give it all we've got! I pray that this will let up for you very soon. If you need anything, even if you just feel like venting, I'm here for you.

Hey Giz.. sorry to read you are craving.. I hope you do hit a meeting our at least throw yourself into a project that needs done at home.. You know how screwed up it would be if you caved to the craving.. the guilt it causes after is just not worth the short high.. nor is it worth risking your freedom and life for a night our two..  think of your daughter.. How would you feel if she knew you were high How would she feel if she saw you getting high.. sometimes the act alone is enough to turn me off as I think we are ugly while we are consuming our doc no matter how we choose to do it.. I understand what craving feel like giz but I would rather crave then use for in using I trade my life and for what ? a high filled with guilt and shame.. just not worth it my friend.. sending warm hugs.. lesa

Meetings are great for cravings. My biggest suggestion to all is to get a sponsor and work the steps diligently. Through working the steps, I haven't had a true craving in about 18 months. Even the thoughts are minuscule as compared to what they used to be, usually consisting of about 10 seconds of "that would be nice right now", immediately followed by "that would ruin everything".

So weird, but I am standing outside yesterday filling up my dog's water bucket, feeling great and all of a sudden I have this mental picture in my mind of two lortabs, a soma and a cup of coffee.  I actually didn't even crave but just that thought out of no where really p*ssed me off.  It does show the slippery slope doesn't it?  
I am glad you posted, it's good to just share and you "oldtimers" here are the ones I look up to the most. ;-)

check that out..i listen to this song over n over when im craving, i find strength in it and it helps me to remember what im fighting for while im craving...i sometimes forget about what im fighting for when i get like that...
