I would sit down and discuss all of this with your doctor. I hope you are doing better. sara
Hi,
Oprana is a morphine derivative and I have heard many people claim to have had allergic type reactions to it but not a stroke. Certainly it would be worth asking your doctor if he/she thinks it is possible. If you have a cardiologist who is not your prescribing physician, then let him know what medications you are taking.
Heart disease is also known to be hereditary. Again, consult your doctor and ask as many questions as you can think of.
If you find that the Oprana had some connection and you feel that you no longer want to take this medication, then this is a great place to ask questions about how to stop using the meds.
Take care of yourself and best of health.
I think that this could probably be better answered by an expert in the "Ask a Doctor" forum.
Here's the link to the Stroke area:

I couldn't find a substance abuse area there, but I hope you'll be able to get some answers from that direction.
If you need to talk some more, we're still here for you!
