Stopping Percocet CT tomorrow. Help

I broke my back 1 year ago on Thanksgiving and despite a severn layer fusion, I avoided be paralyzed. Now the bad news. I recovered well except for daily dosages of percocet 10/325mg 6 times a day. The docs say my back is healing fine and I shouldn't be in a lot of pain, but I can't seem to go more than 6 hours without needing a fix. I know its the physical dependancy more than anything. I work constantly and can't seem to reduce the dosage while I am working. However I am taking three weeks off of work tomorrow during the holidays to get clean. I hate to go CT but I need to wean off fast so I can return feeling ok without the drug. I don't know what exactly to expect but I sure could use some help with what I can do to ease the withdrawls and speed the process up. Are there any OTC or other prescription meds that I should get to help me through it? I have to start immediately and could use any advice you might have.

I know what your going through, a year and a half ago i had major back surgery done, cant even begin to tell you how much metal and pins I have in my back.  I was in a tremendous amount of pain after surgery, never thought I would walk again. But through the grace of God I am walking, and living a normal daily life for the exception of the pain pill addiction. About 4 months ago i realized I wasn't in that much pain anymore and I didn't think i needed the pain pills.  They helped me so much with my recovery, but at the same time i liked the "high" i got.  I decided to quit and every time I tried I failed.  I did it CT and the most I made it is 5 days and relasped once again.  The last time I tried to go CT I ended up in the hospital for 2 days thought I was gonna die. I was taking anywhere from 20- 35 10/325 hydros a day. Didn't wean just cut myself off completely.  Well that didn't work, at the hospital they just pumped me up with so much moriphine I was in alot of pain from the vomiting (my back spasmed so bad I couldn't walk) So needless to say after the hospital stay I went back on the pain meds. But I was determined to stop.  I checked myself into a med detox place which i only stayed for 2 days. They helped alot.  They gave my plenty of gatoraid, immodium and something for sleep (i think it was soma) this was the first night. TI wouldn't recomment "soma" that can also be addictive but i was monitered at the facility, hey also gave me some stuff to prevent the vomitting. On the second day i was given my first 8mg tab of suboxone.  Which helped me soooooooooooooooo much.  I know there is alot of negative stuff people say about suboxone, but I couldn't have done it with out it.  I did unfortunatly relasped again after the med detox program but 4 days ago I quit again.  I am currently weaning of the sub I am down to 2mg a day and have only been taking it for 4 days.  But this detox place did nothing different than what the people here are telling you and its FREE!!!  There is some good advise here, keep posting and you can do this and So Can I

you have come to the right place. check out the thomas recipe and amino acid protocol at the bottom of the page. you will feel like you have the flu. you will start to feel better in about 5 to 7 days. get gatorade or powerade, immodium and bananas. if you have rls there is an otc called hylands restful leg that works. you may also need an otc sleep aid most people use melantion. take lots of hot baths with epsom salt for ache muscles. you can do this, we are here to help and support you. stay with us, posting as much as you need and read other threads.
