11 months today!!!!

I'm going to count it my 11 months even though I did take some hydrocone before and after my surgery. I only took it as the dr. said. Even less.  I didn't even get it refilled. Having said all that is it okay for me to count it 10 months?

realistically, at some point many of us may be in a position that we need to take opiates for a short time.

i don't think that should negate all of the hard work you have done to get to 11 months.  you took as prescribed, so it should not count against you.

it has been a month and you had to take them before surgery, so you really should jump ship now because your brain is going to have a hard time getting off of them.

Congrats to you, its such a good feeling to be able to take one pill because u need it instead of taking a whole hand full just because you want to. I have always admired people who could flush there script after they take what they need after surgery or whatever.  But found out last year after gallbladder surgery that I can finally do the same I only took 3 of my pain pills in the first couple days after that I started taking advil until I felt better.  I can truly say I was so impressed with myself lol I never thought I could be one of them

Tooter at your age and with all your medical problems I am going to say Happy 11 months. Surgery is a time when pain meds are essential. You took them as prescribed and that's all you can do. Now that it's been a month though you might want to try motrin or one of the OTC pm pain relievers if the pain is keeping you up at night. So proud of you! Congrats.

I always say, count as you see fit but Tooter if you only took them "before and after surgery" of course the same is true for all of us who both 1) had surgery and 2) are still using. Your surgery was one month ago and you took one this morning.  You titled your post "11 Months Today!!!" and ended with "is it okay for me to count it 10 months?" The real questions here seems to be 1) can I still use my DOC and keep it under control? and 2) Can I count my "under control time as clean time?"  FOR ME the answer to both of these questions ihas been answered 100 times in my past - no way. Good luck and God Bless. I'm so glad that you are doing better.

I took one at about 3a.m. this morning. I don't get the high any more like I used to so there is no reason to take them unless I need them. I had the surgery the 16th of August

When was the last time that you took any?  How did you manage to take them as prescribed?
