Day 7 limited sleep

Wow, I thought I was special. Saturday night I got 8 hours of interrupted sleep but it was 8 and I thought.....well I thought and that was the problem. 4 strong hours then on and off again. Well it's day 7. Happy birthday to me. Depression is still getting better. Has anyone gone on antidepressants while using and found the depression goes away after quitting? If so, how long did you wait to get off the antidepressant? I don't want to set myself up to fail but I have never been on them until 15 months ago. Any thoughts welcome. Thank you.

I did celexa as well as Prozac and several others until I found that wellbutrin worked the best. I have taken ambien cr and that is my result 4-5 hours of uninterrupted sleep and then 30 minutes of every hour until I decide to get up. I hope it gets better, sleep wise. Being almost depression free is an amazing feeling and may be my driving force to deal with my back pain in other ways.

Congratulations on a week!  You are doing so awesome and I promise each and every day will get a wee bit better.  I promise.  Sleep continues to be my biggest issue (day 24).  I finally went to my doc Friday as it was affecting my entire life and especially my work.  She put me on Ambien CR which is a huge red flag for me.  I've taken it twice - Friday and last night. Saturday I got to sleep just fine.  However when I did take it I slept 8-9 hours.  Many people on here have used OTC aids.  They did not work for me nor did all the other sleep "tricks" that I so easily dish out.  I've been promised by all the "pros" on this site that it does come back but it's the last to come back.  We have totally messed up the way our brain works and that takes time to heal.

I have been on Celexa since September proceeded by Prozac which stopped working for me.  I fell into a very dark depression when my mom died several years back.  I had a nervous breakdown in September because of so many stresses in my life (including pill abuse) and that's when they switched me up.  I will tell you I did not experience any depression during W/D.  I will assume it's because of the fact I was already taking something.  I feel no shame or regrets over the fact I need this right now.  I am in therapy and working on me and hopefully one day will be strong enough to rid myself if this too.  I will also tell you anti-depressents take sometimes up to 2 months to build up in your system to become effective.  When they were changing me to Celexa they had me taking low doses of the former Prozac and Celexa weaning me off one and getting my body used to the other.  It was a month-long process.  Celexa has been a dream for me.  I would speak to your doctor. Good luck!
