Addiction & prescriptions.

I have a genetic disorder that causes me to be in a lot of pain and I don't want to stop being prescribed opiates, but I'm currently addicted. If I sign myself into a detox center, would my doctor be able to view that and know, thus not prescribing opiates anymore?

The detox center is going to want to know the name of your prescribing doctor but I think Hippa regs prohibits them from informing him/her without your permission. So be very careful of what you sign.

I am curious as to why you want to go through a rough detox if you plan on taking opiates again?
