Dealing With Hydrcodone Withdrawls, Tramadol A Solution?

So been taking Hydrocodone for about 2 years.  On about 80 MG (10 10/325's) a day.  I am 1 day away from running out and am done jacking with this crap.  Just tired of being dependent on these to feel normal.  With that said, I do prefer to not be completely miserable being that my addiction is not really known to others I live with.  So is Tramadol (50 Mg) a viable option to help with the withdrawal symptoms? I read somewhere else to take 4-6 the first 4-5 days and then taper down to 2-4 days 6-10 Day 11 only take them as needed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am truly dreading this, but am in a place where I don't want to do this to my body, my wallet and all the other things it is messing up.

Thanks so much

Tramhater has it right on the head. IF, and I mean IF, you can only take it for three days for the worst of the worst, then it would work. IF and I mean IF, you know there is a possibility of taking it longer than 3 to 6 days, DON"T.

tramadol withdrawals are way worse than hydro withdrawals from what i hear, my wife has tramadol and i thought about taking one to help but did research and said F**k that, the withdrawals cause convulsions n sh1t, dont mess with them, they are being reclassified this year...

LOL...I knew the "tramhaters" would pitch in...It's really a bad idea to swap one for the other...as you can see!

Can you come up with another plan?

Stay away from the tramadol.  tramahater's right - try the clonidine.

I wouldn't do it!  It could work, but you could also end up in worse shape with the tramadol than you are with the hydro.  That is exactly what happened with me.  You would be better off getting some clonidine from your doctor.  It will help and then it 3 days, it's basically over.  It's your call.  I wouldn't do it......

Well, yes, the Tramadol will help a great deal but it's an opioid so that's why...Do you think you can do as you've described and then stop the Tramadol?  It would probably work for you, along with a good recovery care program but it has it's pitfalls...

You know yourself the best and I do understand your situation. I can't advocate this in all good conscience BUT I know it's been done.  Do not take more than 6 Tramadol in a day!
And actually take much less if you plan on doing this...but again...I wouldn't do this myself.  I'd feign the "flu" and go to bed!!    Why don't you quit the oxy and see how you feel first?
