Waiting and waiting

I have been waiting a full 365 day for this day to get here lots of ups and downs but no drugs and no alcohol have been in my system. If any of you had known me while I was using you would be as shocked as I am. Recovery works even for someone like me. So won't you join me and help me celebrate my very first full year of recovery! There is no place I would rather celebrate than here with you. Xoxoxox

To all persons who are just starting your journey, the help on this forum and 12step meetings made the differance between staying clean and being in recovery and going back out and using. If your struggling reach out to me or others here and get the support that you deserve.

Hey becca CONGRATS on 1 yr clean thats a huge accomplishment...I remember your struggles I was still in the process of a detox taper off methadone when we both joined medhelp last yr it is always great to see someone make it that you watched threw there struggle you have eared your sobriety and kicked one of the most addictive substance out there...keep up the fight Girl you can do it ...your a great example for the whole forum

To all who are just starting out I was you I am you. One day at a time, sometimes I was five min. at a time. I would just say ok I will not use untill this show on tv is over, ok I will not use untill I have read ten full medhelp threads, I can even remember when I was in a really bad spot and I had a friend come over and take my phone and car keys for the whole day and night. The more days I had clean the more meetings and treatment I did it was like practice being clean till it becomes inate. So practice practice practice to each and everyone of us. Becca

OMG......its been a year already!!!  A big HUGE congrats!!!  Seems like only yesterday we were talking about the laundry piling up in the basement!!!  Yes you have had your ups and downs but you made it thru and you will continue to do that.  I am proud of you becca.......Now i am off to do a happy dance in your honor, Minnesota style~~~~sara
