fentanyl patches

I have been using,as prescribed, 50mcg patches for nearly a year. I want to detox but the wd are killing me even while on the patch, like when the pharmacy gives me a different brand... i feel like dying. does anyone have advice for a relatively quick detox? I sick of this rollercoaster, my fibromyalgia is there but i think the wd pain is worse. I have begun seeing a chiropractor to help.

I was on patches as well and found the gel ones worked for crap.  The only ones that worked were the mylan ones, so I completely understand.  Getting off is going to be tough because it is much harder to taper and going from 50mg to 25mgs is going to be bad- i know I tried it before just saying screw it and going CT.  Make sure to get help around the house for 5-7 if you can.  I found that I could barely move for the first week.  My legs felt like they had lead in them and all the rest of the withdrawals symptoms seemed to be horribly worse, at least for me, than coming off pills.

Hi & Welcome,

I am sure the withdrawal is difficult, especially with Fentanyl. I need to suggest that you speak with your prescribing physician and be honest, let him/her know what is going on with you and tell them that you want to be off of the medication. Perhaps they can suggest a proper taper schedule and that may include a different medication.

Glad you found your way here. Let us know how you make out with the doctor, we can guide you through the withdrawal process with moral support and some home remedy suggestions.
