Does missing a Suboxone dose cause Hallucinations?

My sister has been a codiene addict for over 10 years. 2 years ago she did a 3 mth stay in rehab, she released herself 2 weeks early. She has since had several relapses and has also been taking Suboxone. In the last 6 weeks she has had 3 major hallucination events. She was even hospitalized last week over night as she was hallucinating so badly. She has said that it was because she had had speed and benzos and forgot to take her Suboxone and she said one of the first side effects to missing a dose is hallucinations. I have googled it and nowhere can I find that missing a dose causes hallucinations. Is hallucinations a side effect/ withdrawl?? Im just trying to determine truth from lies....please anyones help??

I was on subonoxe for a short period and it made me feel weird, but never anything like that.  I would think the hallucinations would be more from the benzo use.  I have heard stuff like that happening in extreme cases with that.  And to mix speed and benzos, God knows what that would do to someone's brain.  I really hope she stops mixing all those pills together.  And I know how hard this is for you, to watch a family member self destruct.  I am going thru the same thing right now.  There might not be much you can do to help her, she will need to make that decision for herself.  But there is support out there for you so this doesn't drive you completely insane.  Good luck with everything, you are totally not alone with this.

Hi, I just came off suboxone about a week ago now. I researched everything about the med. Before starting it. I did a 21 day taper with it. I also didnt come across anything about having hallucinations. And I did not go through that. There has been alot of other people that have taken sub also. Someone else may be able to relate. Good luck w/your sis!
