this forum is very helpful and it's a good addition to any addict's program of recovery.  but there's no substitute for face-to-face interaction with addicts in recovery.  i would suggest that you hook up with the NA folks in your area . . . you will find people who have been where you are and know the path to where you want to be.  look at eanaonline-dot-org . . . that's for the "Esperanza Area of Narcotics Anonymous" -- no doubt you will find hope and encouragement there.

HI welcome to the forum ......you can do this yourself but it would be extremely helpful to have a close friend that dosent use or family to go threw it with you my experence is with the pills and methadone if your thinking methadone dont do it to yourself I have sent a message to one of the girls here who has done what your trying to do Lisa will tell you fist hand what your going to need to do meanwile read up all you can on it go to the seach box on this page and type in heroin withdrawal also go to the lower right of this screen and look up the thomas recipe it will give you a few things to pick up that will soften the blow a bit this wont be ez but it will be so so worth it check back tomorrow for her help she is an angle good luck on taking your life back and God bless......Gnarly

hi and welcome. i am so glad you are reaching out and looking for help. tell us more about yourself. how long have you been using?? i saw your other post. the skin rash is a side effect of the heroin. how long have you had the rash??  you should see a doctor.
