I would ask for him to do it as a way to build a bridge to trust for the both of you to begin again. You both need to trust each other and have a good relationship and being drug free is saving his life as well as your heart. So for peace of mind ask for it to be done. If he says no then you have another issue to deal with....he needs you as much as you need him. What a good Mom. alicat

I'm afraid as his age I do not believe it is okay for you to drug test him unless he wants to do it as a way to bring the trust back into your relationship.  Maybe you could pose it to him that way - that his drug use has obviously caused a lack of trust between you (which I am sure he realizes) and one way to get it going in the right direction is to periodically complete drug tests.  Discuss this with him and get his feedback, tell hm how you feel - he is too old to be treated like a child. At 25, he is definitely an adult and I believe your treating him like one could also really send a good signal his way which he could obviously use right now.  Continuing to treat him like a child by not telling him your true feelings may only make things worse if you think about things from his end.  Just my opinion.

hi there. if he is living under your roof, by all means. however, without knowing the background here, you should consider a few things. how long has it been since he said he last used? is he on any other medications? how do you plan to deal with the potential results? bear in mind also that drug tests available for on site evaluation to consumers are also not 100% accurate. there can be both false positives and false negatives. if you decide to go through with it, please advise, and i can give you more info to do this properly. take care,  gm

I think I could relate to your son...My parents are very suspicious of me....But they offered help..They said if I am doing it they will help me get off it...However, I don't want them to know that's why I'm doing cold turkey atm...

Anyways, they booked a doctor for me...I went...thinking I could cheat which was bad....But then the doctor said that there would be someone there to witness me go to the toilet...so I told them I couldn't do it and that i would come back...

If your Son doesn't want you to know then he would try everything to prevent you from knowing...The best way to get an answer is try to understand his addiction and provide as much support you can and let him know why you don't trust him etc.etc.

Make him feel comfortable telling you his situation...keep asking him..hehe!

It'll annoy him and he would eventually go and do a drug test for you...

I agree, especially if he is living in your home. Trust is a hard thing to get back and you will both need time.

If he passes the test then you can back off and it will ease your mind. Also, if he fights you on the test and refuses it, then you will know for sure.
