Duragesic Tapper

I just got back from Dr. that is out of town. We lowered the patch again today to 25mcg/h That is down from 100 4 months ago an 50 3 weeks ago. Its being filled now.. The last taper from 75-50 was really easy. I hope my luck does not run out. My question is he(Dr.)is dumbfounded as to what to give me for pain. I told him maybe a LOW dose quick acting MORPHINE that will get in there cut the bone pain and not hang around like this patch does.. He wants to give me junk like percosets, or loitabs or tylox, percodan, He even mentioned methadone.. I told him after coming her I had rather slit my wrist than take that and have to wean off it one day. I have to have something until I get a hip replacement. The patch has worked for pain but the side effect are horrible.. Does anyone know of something I can take? He wanted to start me on Ultram but I had heard bad things on here about it. Keep in mind I do not abuse these meds in anyway. If anything I try not to even come close to taking the full dose. He gave me Percosets today because that is what I was on before the patch. I took them just to not burn that bridge. I did not want to tell him I probally have 500 or more here at the house now..
any info would be appreciated.. I feel like almost I might as well stay on the patch and probally would if the depression was not there. I have never had depression and he really has scared me. I feel so much better already down from 100-50 now 25 mcg/h..
Thanks

I have never taken suboxone but here is a website to educate yourself about it...and you are right...only docs who have a license to dispense it can...it is not approved i dont think as a pain medication here in the us but is approved for opiate addiction...read up at this site...keep posting

The short acting morphine I was on Temgesic is the same as Suboxone just a low .2mg sub lingual dose.. How does this treat you pain and how addictive is Suboxone. I talked to my Dr. about temgesic a year or so ago and he said it was Suboxone when he looked it up and said it takes a special medical license to write it ??

Yea my hip is about to kill me now down so much on the patch. I am looking for a dr. to eval me for a new procedure call Anterior Approach where the muscle in the leg is retracted and spared. Once I talk to them and feel comfortable I will probally go and have it done. Between 1-6 months..that could streght after summer.. Not sure?
I was on  .2mg Temgesic when I was in mexico years ago and it was the BEST pain med I have ever used.. Its not sold in usa. Its a low dose version of the subs they use here for withdrawals...Its was super good and never got addicted to it.. Took only when I really needed it..
Its a low dose quick acting mophine sub lingual..

this is a very tuff one as you do need something for pain.  I guess you just need to find your comfort level using the least amount of drugs.  When are you getting your hip replaced ?   Remember pain does increase while on these meds and during tapering.  Best wishes   Mary
