I have cut my sources and don't hang out with my "friends" anymore. I have not gone to meetings but talk to my brother who have been clean from heroin for 6 years. I know what I'm going through is nothing compared to what he went through. He goes to meetings everyday so might go with him soon.
Thank you for the fast responses! I think the muscle aches and no energy were the worst for me because I do landscaping for a living. Glad that is over. Now I actually feel better while I'm working than I do when I get home. When I'm home I just crave them and heart pounds. I've been taking benadryl to help sleep.
You are just about over the hump. You'll feel a bit better physically soon; if you haven't been eating then eat.
It will take a few months before you get even close to normal; the anxiety will remain but becomes less and less as time passes. You probably won't sleep well for a few weeks.
Most importantly, what kind of recovery plan have you put in to place??
Cut your sources, tell your secret, go to meetings. If you leave one of those steps out you will relapse.
Now may not seem like the time to take those steps, but it is. This is when you are still close to the hell of detox, and should be motivated to clean up your life. The longer you wait, the more control your addicts brain has and suddenly the withdrawals weren't THAT bad, and you think you've got your addiction beat, etc, etc. That's when you relapse.

Hi- you should feel better in a couple of days or so. Everyone is different. Sleep takes awhile to normalize so take OTC sleep med and some Excedrin, for your headache. Hot baths with Epsom salts are wonderful, as well. Keep posting...
I keep reading posts and everyone had different times. I read detox is 5 days to 10 days. I'm one day one of no tramadol and have lortab to help lessen the dt. try melatonin for sleep. its all natural and found at any cvs and even grocery stores. also no caffene. it prolongs xeroxing. I learner that much from years ago when I stopped. good luck! 5 days is awesome!!!!
