Well, this is it....going cold turkey...need some support!

Well, I am on this horrible downward spiral for about 1 to 2 years now where I would take and chew 40+ mgs of oxycontin at night because of my insomnia. I've gotten my sleep but now everything else is lacking because of my addiction! I am tired and lazy all the time, I have no energy or motivation, and I am being neglectful to my life and my family.

Today as of about 3 p.m. I am going cold turkey!!! It will have been 24 hrs since my last dose and I am ready! I am ready to be done once and for all with this ****....I DON'T NEED IT! I want to be normal again! I am ready to have energy and ready to feel like I want to exercise like I did a year ago!! I had a baby and gained 20 pounds and have been soooo lazy from the oxy that I have not dropped a pound! I WANT my mind back.....

This is my plan....luckily I am self employed so it will be easy to hide out at home......

My husband is going to deal with the household stuff for a week and allow me to just be in full swing withdrawal state. I have my Klonipin, my multi vitamin with energy plus (I started taking this a week ago to get it in my system) and I am setting up my guest room as my withdrawal sanctuary! I am ready....I will check back in with progress tomorrow.....

I love your attitude, too!! AND...I am in no way taking away from the discomfort you are about to go through, BUT...consider yourself lucky, because aside from a medical detox, your detox week is going to be about as easy as it gets for most of us...you don't have to work, you can hole up in the bedroom, you have your husband to lean on and to help you out with everyday household things, etc...TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS!!! I love hearing these stories, because you have a great chance for success right now!

You have a plan of attack and have accepted that you will be sick for a week...have support at home and are going to make it...the cards are stacked in your favor!

Congrats on choosing a new existence...and remember too...take your vitamins, drink lots of water and antioxidant containing juices (cranberry, blueberry, etc...)  eat simple foods like oatmeal if you can...keep pepto or something like that on hand...take hot baths, steams or saunas if yo can...walk and exercise if you can force yourself too...keep a towel on hand at night for the sweats...um...what else?  anybody?

You are going to do great!!  Your attitude will help.  Lemme tell you that in a week or so you will feel like a new person..  The support from hubby is gonna really help.  I pretty much checked out for about 10 days....actually I was never really in while using.  I just thought I was.  Three weeks today and I can finally say I am back...It feels WONDERFUL.  You can do this and we are here for you.
Take lots of hot baths...they saved me
