I am grateful for today as i am no longer chasing those pills~
Yeah they are phasing out the pills, but more people are trying to switch to subutex instead due to the rising cost of the films. I know a lot of insurance companies are refusing to pay for the films. Here they are 900 a pack verses 40 bucks for 60 subutexs. I work in a doctors office and we can call patients to check their pills same as the pain med patients. We have about a 30% reabusing rate due to the cost of the films. We used to offer vouchers but they cut those back too.
In my little corner of WY....which has a nasty pill problem, they were considering some sort of locked dispensing box.....I'd never head of it. The local Law Enforcement was pushing it hard. But the Pharmacies balked because they'd have had to push the cost onto customers. The battle over this is still going on though,,,,,,,,

Yeah this is great info.I am glad they are tracking and wish they could do something similar with the other addictive meds
Good info for those on here. Thanks for sharing!
That is correct. Each strip has a serial number, and it is a felony to share this medication. Not only is it illegal, but potentially dangerous. Ricket Benckiser, the inventors and main North American distributor of buprenorphine, gave the FDA an ultimatum late last year. The British company demands that all North American patients be switched to the film, over tablets, in a timely matter or they will stop selling suboxone in the U.S. The U.S. has the highest rate of small children ingesting suboxone tabs in the world. Illicit use of subutex, snortable and injectable pure buprenorphine, is on the rise as well. The film will make each person prescribed the film responsible and traceable for their medication. The FDA has responded by allowing manufacturers from Ohio, India, and Israel to distribute in the U.S., but those companies can't keep up with the growing demand of suboxone. This is the fasting growing and most controversial medication on the world market. If you are prescribed subs, do not take that responsibility lightly.
