Your doing a good job. You have your Dr. on board and your husband is holding meds.....AWESOME. Don't stress about the symptoms, they will be mild as long as you don't mix alcohol with the pills. Keep yourself as healthy as possible. Very smart of yu to get rid of these meds. Rooting for you!
My husband has the meds. :) Gives them to me. I do not have them.
She said I can get more meds if I need them for a taper. I may or may not have enough. 60 .5 mg pills. Right now I am doing .25 in AM and .75 PM.
Also, are you able to stick to a taper schedule or are you fighting taking more than allowed?
You'll be fine. Do you have enough to do a slow taper? Say maybe 6 weeks worth of meds? The symptoms with a slow taper will NOT be unbearable at all. Is your Dr. rx'ing them?
Off and on for a year when needed and to sleep and then the past few weeks every night 1 to 1.5 mg every night.
Hi Kel, How long have you been taking the ativan? I can tell you only of my experience. I was taking 1.5 mg for about 6 months. I stupidly started on it to get off opiates. It took me about 3 months of a slow taper to get off. Fortunatly for me I never liked benzo's , it was just a matter of weaning off to lesson w/d. You are down to a low dose. Expect to feel "out of sorts" for a week then slowly the unbalanced feeling will settle. When you feel stable go down .5 mg for a few weeks and then stop (IMO) . Exercise helped me alot to counteract the anxiety during w/d. Keep posting for others that are better versed in this.
