Forgot to mention Clonidine. My doctor gave me that to help with sleep and it did. Available only by prescription.
I accepted the fact that I wasn't going to sleep much for a few weeks when I came off of Hydro. When I told my doctor I'm quitting, he told me to expect that because I wasn't getting the correct type of sleep. That was the first withdrawal. I went thru 3 more times. Sleep got worse with each one.
(sorry, I know it's now easy for me to say 'cause I'm done with my WD, but...) You sleep when you can. It's sort of mind over matter. If you accept it, get up and watch some TV, try to relax, you just might doze off here and there. There's a real condition called "Sleep Anxiety". Google it. You go to bed thinking "I won't sleep", and you don't, and you get pis-ed, and up goes the anxiety. I got that many times until I just went along with what my body wanted for awhile. You're going to be tired for awhile, but I think, for a short time. All of this will pass.
NyQuil is some wild stuff in my book. On this forum I learned about stuff like Alteril, a natural sleep formula. It's at CVS. Also, Valerian Root (get the extract) and Hyland Calms Forte. And then the hot baths. But don't expect to get your usual 8 hours during detox, and do your best not to fight it.
Again, try to relax. I bet tomorrow will be better. You'll be just fine. You're going to get through this.
No na trying to do it on my own. Just sad I'm using the vitamin regimine from the Thomas recipe doesn't seem to be working but then again it could be this is my first try detoxing and I'm doing it on my own and so far so good just looking towards Friday. That will be day 6 for me hopefully I make it there
I've never tried percocet, but I came off of vicodin last year, and it took about 5 days for me to feel a little better, at least physically and to sleep ok again. Have you ever gone to AA or NA? Going to those meetings helped with sleep last year. I don't know why. I guess just having a lot of people that understood me. I think it's great that you're getting off of them. I hope you start to sleep well again soon and feel better in general.
