Hi and welcome,
Any drug with codeine in it carries the risk of physical dependency. Taking it daily for five months would leave most people dependent on it. 16 tablets a week is a low dose which I imagine means that you're not taking more that the prescribed amount?
Do you need them? Do they help? Are there non-opioid alternatives?
I think the best thing to do is to talk to your doctor and share you concerns.
Hi there- You may be addicted or dependant physically after 5 months. Do you take them every day?
Butalbital is very addicting as is codeine. Both have their own set of withdrawal symptoms and butalbital should never be stopped abruptly. You're not taking a large dose right now but you will find that you need to increase your dose as time goes on.
You asked if you should see a doctor. Who prescribed these for you? That's who you should see for advice. In the mean time, try to cut back by not taking them every single day. These pills should be taken only as needed and they will CAUSE migraines due to their rebound effect. Stay in touch-
Excellent! Thanks for checking back. I'm sure you feel better now that you've spoken with your doctor. Take good care-
