Good for you. I also had urges this weekend. Funny I'm also at 4 weeks 6 days. I stopped on 3/3/08. I just took a couple of valium. Keep up the good work. Scary, you're only 18 and I have 2 kids the oldest is 13. I pray that neither of them gets hooked on anything, but both mom and dad have addictive personalities. Dad has never been addicted to pain meds. Come here when you need support, thats what I do.
Got your PM and really glad you did not go with the oxys. I'm glad you are able to refrain from drinking and needing the Suboxone when your not home. They say to stay away from triggers and it sounds like home is one for you. Thats kinda hard to stay away from. Your young and you should be near your family. Sometimes when all else fails people do move away from it all. Hopefully you'll stay strong like Friday.
The thing is, I HAVE an appointment. I ABSOLUTELY need suboxone while at home. My town is ridiculous with painkillers. Everyone does them. You can't go to parties without them being around. While at school I can go without suboxone. I have an appointment May 9 and that was the earliest I could get. I know that having a doctor for it is much better. Thank you for your concern. Shows you care.
Sorry!! I just saw your post....I'm so glad you have an appointment, keep us updated.
It is a great thing you didn't start taking pills, it's just that for me as an addict I am afraid I could easily trade one addiction for another. I am not talking about suboxone, I take 12 mgs a day and it's been absolutely great, but if anything like alcohol or stopping my treatment abruptly was thrown in the mix I don't think I would be handling it very well.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is that if you need suboxone, like many of us absolutely do, is there any way you could go to a doctor and have him prescribe it for you according to your individual needs? It would be so much healthier for you and your benefits would be 10 X's greater.
Be well, good luck and peace to you:)
I wasn't taking offense. I knew you would think I was. Ha. I can tell you all I know about the drug, but I know limited info because I get it from the street and not from the doctor. I have an appointment for it May 9 though. It stops cravings, makes it so you can't get high. I think it's mostly mental for me.
And that is a good thing...I did not mean anything by "here and there" I just did not know it would stop cravings without being on it everyday...I do not know much about that drug but curious about it..thanks
thank you for the encouragement.
I have taken suboxone a million times. I drank on it, yes. I took a half. I know it isn't a good idea, but it's what needed to be done. I puked because of it, as well. I had to take the suboxone because I would have used. I drank, just because I can't be at a party without drinking. Isn't fun. Bunch of drunk kids around me and I'm sober... not fun at all.
The important thing is, I got through the craving. I didn't use.
I don't take a suboxone "here and there". I take suboxone pretty regularly. I was taking it every day up until last week. My buddy doesn't have enough to keep supplying me with a quarter a day until he gets a refill, so I am trying to cope without it. When I am home, I need to take suboxone because it triggers cravings and being home just is all around bad. At school, I can live without suboxone because there are no tempting situations.
You started taking suboxone, or you just took one that night? You drank alcohol with it? Not a good idea................
I am glad u made it..Is it ok just to take a suboxone here and there? Had not heard of that before...just glad u did not cave and start using again..
