tramadol addiction

I'm brand new to this forum.  I've been addicted to tramadol for about 2 years now.  I'm deathly scared to go off this drug. The drug is very easy to buy online. I make sure I have a continuous supply of the drug.  Not only am I going broke (been overdrawn in my bank account) but I live for this drug.  I've come to the realization that I have to stop and I have to stop now.  I have no idea how to stop this drug, my husband and children have no idea I take this drug.  I've kept it very well hidden.  I've tried to quit many times but when I start feeling back, I just start taking the drug again.  I've taken up to 1000 mg of this drug a day.  I have sleep problems and I have anger issues when I run low on my supply and can't take as much of the drug as I want.  I'm beggin anyone to please help.

hi and welcome to the forum.. tramadol has to be tapered off of due to a risk of seizures.  avisg who is a forum leader was addicted to trams and she can help you make a taper schedule based on some info she will ask you for.  i will send her a message to pm you.  she may already be in bed tonite but she wll get back to you i promise.  stick around there is great support here.

One of the Tramadol experts here is avisg. On her profile in her journals is some excellent advice about Tramadol and tapering off. Never quit cold turkey on Trams. Seizures can happen. She has a purple star by here name.

Sounds like a complicated situation.  It will be tough to taper down and hide your roller coaster of emotions from your hubby.  Is there any way you could come clean with him and get support??  Do you genuinely believe you can maintain the discipline and will power to not take more when you are tapering?? It might help if someone dispenses them to you each day....
