Getting off Percocet

Hello,

I have been taking percs for 5 years. For about the last 6 months i have been taking 10 daily.
I have made the decision to quit. I have two awesome boys one and three years old and I dont want to be taking these forever. I have to stop now If I dont the next step will probably be taking oxycontin, i dont want that.

Questions:

1: I am quitting on Tuesday. How long will I feel terrable for. How long will the crazy legs last for.
2: what are things I can buy to make it easier for me eg. immodium, advil, water.etc etc.....
3: I have herd that there is a kit from the health food store called Opiod detox. Does anyone know if it works????
4: will I ever feel normal again..

Please someone who has been through this reply. I am so scared....
WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the bottom of this page Most Viewed Health Pages are two articles:
Thomas Recipe
Amino Acid Protocol

Check them out for good info.  I did not do the tranquilizers, the rest really helped.

Restless Legs is harder..some say heat works, some cold worked.  Hot baths helps.  Everyone is different.  I have it normally and had meds that works for me, ran out, dr. out of town and I thought I would go nuts for 5 days til she got back.  A tried most of the stuff, some worked, some no.
It is trial and error for each person.

I started feeling better after 1 week,  2 weeks better, and I am at 6 weeks and my brain is working again.  It takes time.

Maybe you should consider cutting back slowly. Go to 9 a day for a week, then 8 a day for a week, then 7, etc. You should be able to avoid most of the withdrawal symptoms that way. Also take anything that will alleviate withdrawal. This forum should come up with a great many ideas. I don't have any advice on that score, but I was taking Perocet following surgery and cut back slowly without incident. I had been taking 8 a day for some time.
