Hey your right in the middle of the worst physical part maybe even a little past. So it will get better. If you can sleep,by all means sleep. It does pass the time,so does reading books, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and anything that doesn't require real heavy thinking but still using your mind. Reading did wonders for me,passed the time and freed my mind. When my back would start hurting and couldn't stretch my legs anymore I went straight for the shower. I took lots of vitamins and water. If you have made it this far there is no turning back now,you can't. Its against the law and we are watching you!!! Uh huh I saw you look around. We know what your doing. Just like santa claus. Really don't dwell on it or the clock. Soon, very soon you are gonna feel better. Be very careful though, when you start to feel better the mental part starts and we will be here for that. ~~John
Well it's day 3 and believe it or not I do feel a tad bit better than yesterday. Still feel like ****, but at least I know that it will get better every day. I can't wait for tomorrow........
You will feel great come Wednesday compared to how you feel now. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Like everyone said....Put in your head that this is just a bad bad cold. You can do it. When you do you will be that much stronger, healthier and you will be able to be a full time Mom again. Your kids won't have to wait for their mom to get her drugs so she has the energy to be a mom. I'm not making fun of you or trying to disrespect you in anyway. Just trying to give you more reasons to quit then you already have. Stay strong and it will all be over before you know it.
Thank you so much for your responses. It really is encouraging to know that I'm not the only one who has ever gone through this hell. I've been taking everything under the sun today to help with sleep and so far have been pretty successful at sleeping most of the day. If I can just keep sleeping hopefully the time will pass quicker. It's just so hard to have 3 kids that are so young to take care of when I can't even take care of myself or get out of bed. Luckily my husband is very supportive and encouraging and has been taking care of me and the kids. He has to go back to work on wednesday and I'm hoping and praying that the worst will be over by then and I can start doing my wifely duties. Thanks again for all your support, the more the merrier!
Good luck...you can do it....immodium for diarrhea .try to keep busy...it helps not to be so focused on everythng you are feeling....the flu...pretend like it is the flu..and treat yourself accordingly. take care...welcome to this forum...and keep posting...it is a great help!!
oh yes, oxy withdrawal. it can be done. just buckle in and pretend you have the flu for a week. most of the physical w/d will be over. usually the lethargy and insomnia is the last to go. hang in there and post. make sure you do not get dehydrated as that will intensify your symptoms. you need to try and eat even though it sounds terrible. sleep when you can. don't try to save it up for night. baths, what ibkleen said. keep posting.
You're singing my tune.
I went throught the back surgery, pain management, then didn't like being without, so of course, did the unthinkable that I'd never want to say.
An RN once told me that sometimes when you've been taking medication for pain, it makes you think that you have more pain that what you really do.
After 6 ugly years, (and some failed attempts) thanks to this website I am 12 clean from hydrocodone. My 7th & 8th days were the worst as far as the pain. I stayed in the hot shower & hot tub for 2 days. It was enough to drive me back to using, but I had already gotten rid of everything. In the last 4 days, I haven't had unbearable pain.
Feel free to ask me anything. However, there are more experienced people than I. But would love to be your friend.
Ye shun, it will be over in a few days. Usually about 6 days is the norm. Tide it out, it is well worth it. Try hot baths...drink herbal tea..eat crackers...watch a movie....put a heating pad on your calves. Whatever you can do to make yourself comfortable over the next few days.
Glad to see you here. Keep talking, it helps.
