Withdrawals and work

Hello all! Been reading this forum for quite some time and have decided it is time to post. I have been taking percocets/roxies for about 3 years now my worst I was taking 180-210mg but have cut it down to about 80mg I tried to go lower but just can't seem to get below that. I took my last 2 perc 10/325s this am and have to work the next 3 days I can not take any time off. I for the most part know what to expect as far as withdrawal symptoms as I have tried this a few times but I am nervous about having to do this at work. Has anyone gone thru withdrawal at work successfully? If so how or what did u do so that people wouldn't notice?

I am hoping that doing this while working will make the days go by faster, I agree doing this at home can be a loooonngg few days. I am hoping I will sleep some tonight not lookin forward to work but it will keep my mind off of how I am feeling and I need to keep telling myself that. Thanks for your kind words.

Doing this while working as well.  In some ways (I haven't fully decided) it seems better to do this at work so I can focus on something other than how awful I feel.  Forcing myself to get up and out of the house helped.  Saying you don't feel well is the best excuse to keep quite at work.  Sitting at home seems to make the long days during detox even longer.  And have I had some loooong days.  I swear the clock went backwards a few times!!  At least they did for me on my failed attempts.  I am in day 5 now...you can do this!  WE can do this!!    Please post in the morning.

Make sure you are loading up on your vitamins, They really do help!!! ALOT!! I love my Stress B Complex, I'll prob take that the rest of my life!!

Just make sure you are also kind to your body....It is going to be going through hell trying to get all of the toxins out* Drink as much fluid as you can* Maybe stay away from caffine that could make the RLS worse *Get some of the Hylands Restless legs also* It's a life saver!!

Let your self relax and sleep as much as you can at night*melatonin helped me TONS* i still take it! Your body will need all the rest it can get
Good luck and i'm here for you * We all are*

Hey,
Congrats on wanting to get clean!!!! I just wanted to write and let you know that your not alone on that. When i detoxed i wasnt able to take any time off of work either. I did C/T and jumped off of Norco 10/325 was taking up to 8 a day sometimes lower.... I worked everyday, I tried to plan my C/T jump to where my worst days would be on the weekend but everyones "worst days" are differnt so mine actually ended up being on the days i worked lol Funny thing!!
I just kept quite and in my own world, If anyone asked why i wasnt my normal perky self i just would say im  not feeling that well and didnt sleep well the night before due to me feeling sickish!
I loaded up on water/Vitamin water ORANGE JUICE*my new addiction* lol and a bunch of vitamins and snacks..Sweet stuff seemed to really help me with any craving and its yummy :)
You know your own limit, Dont push your self tooo much but remember the more you do push yourself the better you'll feel..My W/D wasnt AWFUL and i think it's cause i did make myself physcially get up get out of the house and move around. I acutally made myself talk the pups on a walk after work one day i think it was day 4 of my WD and i ended up on and hour and a half walk and it felt AMAZING!!!
Just know you can do this, You've taken the first step  by wanting to and that HUGE!!
Once again congrats...PM me if you'd like

Yes! Today is my day 1 (and first ever attempt at quitting percocet...I was up to 80mg at my worst) and I'm at work now. I've had the cold sweats and chills and claminess all day but it's going to be so worth it! Jump ship with me and be my get-clean-partner! You can do it! I've been abusing for over 3 years!! If I can sit here at work and do it so can you:)!

Thanks for your quick response, I will surely use the not feeling well card. I think the worst is the anxiety I feel, I have to just keep repeating to myself this to shall pass. I have no way of getting anymore and want my life back more than ever! Thanks again.

Hi and welcome to the forum. That's amazing how you were able to go down to 80mg; I never was able to taper.

I've done the "WD at work" before - just said I have a bad cold and to stay away from me - they usually do and don't bother you too much.

There is the Thomas Recipe listed below, bottom right of this website - that seems to help.

Try to take a walk or get out during your lunch break, that'll help as well.

Nick
