usually your not allowed to use the phone for the first 24-48 hours into Rehab. But I'm sure theyre all different.
Koalamommy,
Your husband has to be well into withdrawals before they will start him on the Suboxone, so I'm sure he's to sick to care about getting to the phone. Once they get him going on the Sub, you'll probably hear from him.
Try to feel relieved that's he's in good hands and getting the help he needs. And remember his job would have been lost eventually by his addiction. Try not to panic over things you aren't sure of yet.
Please try to calm yourself, for your daughter, your husband and yourself. He's doing the right thing.
He's going to need your calm, confident support when he gets back.
You should really try to get to a few Narc-Anon meetings, before he gets back. Get the help you need to deal with and understand, so you don't needlessly spend this month in a state of panic.
You absolutely did the right thing taking him to Rehab and it will all work out.
Wishing you the best.
steve no worries i sent ya a Pm ...:)
sorry i didn't read her last sentence,my mistake.i guess i just feel confrontational tonite.now that christmas is over i feel like an emotional wreck.i know i have to start tapering tom.as that was my plan and i want to stick to it.i feel about 30 days of misery coming my way and not looking forward to it.thanks for the correction, really.i think i need to be on the POST QUESTION board more than the comment board.i do feel i have alot to offer as i have been through this before, but i need to start listening more also.thanks
Stevo is right.....Most states are "Right To Work States", meaning they can fire you for any reason at any time.
Koala......if this does happen, contact the labor board attorney. It will not cost anything to speak to them and usually a phone call from them will change the situation.
Koala check into this FMLA it might help
The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) allows for a person to take unpaid leave for: medical illness, to take care of an ill family member, or for the adjustment of a new child. Substance abuse can be covered under the FMLA but there are very specific qualifications.
steve what what 1111she is worried her husband i going to get fired for going to rehab
I know you are worried sick and you will hear from him the next few days for him are going to be really hard!!! i don't think they will be able to fire him for this if they try he needs to fight it .i had a friend here that went in for rehab they tryed to fire they couldnt. There are laws to help protect him.Hang on it will get better
8mg of suboxone is actually a low dose for what he was taking so hes probably withdrawing right now and when your at that point in might be hard for him to even get to the phone....dont be worry hes being supervised and he will be ok and im sure when he can get up hes gonna call you..
dont worry we are all here for you...he will be ok believe me, he has to want to stay sober after all this and, hopefully that will happen and with your support he will...
if you need to talk or vent..you know where to come, hes gonna be alright though..
