Hello question about Suboxone

Well as I told over the weekend I am back and now am taking suboxone. The thing is and not to be gross, but I think we all have the wonderful experience of how narcs. constipate you, well I have been on the suboxone for a week and haven't even had the disire to go to the bathroom. Has anyone of heard of suboxone being bad in that manner? Is there something I can do? Any help out there? (Strange question, but never hurts to ask) 8*)

yep, it did it to me.  I took senokot at night and it would work great for me the next morning.  I was using suppositories and even enemas,  but once i got on the senokot, it was okay.  Good wishes.

yup...been there, doing that. Mycat poops more than I do. ........LOL. Not too bad but definatlely some help is needed with this. But, you know what? That is the least of our worries.......rather be constipated than swallowing pills all day. Right?

Yes, I was on subutex and suboxone and both made me extremely constipated. You need to take a stool softner like colace and for extreme constipation take a laxative like sendecot or miralax. I also like the chocolate exlax candy (be careful not to take too much- it can be painful). You can take the stool softner daily, 1 to 2 tablets, but only take the laxatives as needed because your body will become dependent on them. Also, eat natural fiber- fresh fruit and veggies (not canned or jarred fruit.) I hope this helps you go soon:)

OMG yes yes yes it is so bad is getting better for me but not really, I'been on sub for 6 weeks and it is a nightmare the constipation so what I have been doing from another post about a2 weeks ago I take flaxseed oil and that helps I take 1 pill about 3 or 4 times a day and that helps me go once a day sometimes is only every other day like now but yes is worse that when I was on the hydrocodone on the pills it was bad to but not as much.
Good luck I know how it feels just hang in there I guess and do an enema if you have to.

This also happened to me.. it seemed worse on Sub than on pills.  I took and still do, Calcium/magnesium liquid before bed. That helps alot.  Also drinking aloe vera juice from the health food store can help alot as well.

Buprenorphine and naloxone can cause constipation...so that is a double whammy i guess....i had not heard anyone complain of this but it makes sense,,,,lots of water...8-12 glasses a day and high fiber in your diet can help...water helps with fatigue as well...i found that stool softeners help and are more comfortable than laxatives ...my tummy adjusted to the constipation after a while on the hydros and it went away...when i took them after a procedure for 4 days recently, i became constipated again
