Help With Methadone Withdrawls

I need help badly and quickly.  I have been on anywhere from 100 to 150 mg of Methadone for 4 years.  I am seeing a new doctor now and he is not very kind.  Basically I blame the methadone for my divorce from the father of my daughter and the love of my life, bankruptcy, and the loss of a fiancee.  I hate being on this drug b/c I remember how good I used to feel before I started taking it.  I wouldn't get tired as much, etc...  I'm hoping that I can control my pain with another less addictive drug, or possibly motrin and Nsaids.

I had 70mg on Monday and it's Wednesday now.  I have the sweats, feel AWFUL, can't sleep worth a darn and have hightened pain.  I have ran out of my meds b/c I took too many and now the doctor will not refill them early.  I was on a 100 dose for 3 years and he has now put me on a 70mg dose.  When one gets desensitized to a certain mg, you don't go down!!  Anyhow, I just want to stop taking it all together.  I also have to b/c my next refill isn't until the 28th and it's the 16th.  I tried this almost 2 years ago and I was sicker than I've ever been in my life.  I threw up for 3 days solid.  Every time I moved, I threw up.  My throat was almost raw from vommiting so much.  I DO NOT want that to happen again.  I have an 8 year old daughter and I can't afford to be down in the bed throwing up constantly.  Is there ANY thing that will ease the sweats, insomnia, pain and vomitting?  I'm going to call my doc tomorrow and ask them about Suboxone, Naloxone, and Naltrexone.  I'll bet you a cool million that they won't help me with it...

Thanks guys.  I'm so glad that I found this site.  I'll ask my doc about the Suboxone.  I'm going to call tomorrow in fact.  I have to use him b/c I have no isurance and I go to a hospital here in town for people like me with no insurance and that make little to no money.

I'm not too sure about WD'ing from what you're coming off of, but I do know that if you have a little girl, you do need to get off of the pills soon. Now is the best time, and just know that you have come to the right place. There are so many members here who are more than willing to help you with anything you need.

Hang in there, and keep posting. A good way to get this stuff off of your mind is to post as much as you can. I know that's what I had to do when I came off Percocet.

The last thing you need is naloxone or naltrexone. Those are opiate antagonists and will throw you in withdrawal hell. Suboxone would be a good choice because it would make tapering easier. But, be sure to hunt around and find a good doctor. You are going to have some pretty severe and prolonged withdrawals jumping off methadone at that level. Good luck.
