Help getting off methadone

I have been on methadone since 2007. I'm desperate to get off of this evil stuff. Since taking this poison, I have so many health problems, and I don't know how to get my life back. Can anybody understand? I just need advice from someone who has been through the same situation. If anybody can help, I would be so happy!

Hi  well thats a long time to be on methadone  I was on it almost 7yrs at 150mg so it was a ruff detox  but if you taper slow stick it out you can do it... it took me 8 1/2 mo to get off it there are a few things that will help get up to walmart and pick up a 3 in one vitamin calcium magnesum and zinc it will really help a lot with the withdrawal take 4 with breakfast and 4 with dinner  in a few days you will notice a difference  the thing is there is ni completely comfortable way to do this  at best the withdrawal can be managed to fast your in withdrawal to slow and it takes forever it is not so much the intecaty of the withdrawal but the long recovery time  it took me a good 90 days to see the light  dont get discouraged you do get better slowly but it comes in baby steps there is a lot of factors that come into play  how long you are on it your dose and your age all play a roll give us a bit more information and I can help you farther message me if you like.........Gnarly

Hi!  Are you still around?  There are quite a few people who have come off methadone on here!  Go to the forum "Addiction:Substance Abuse" and repost your question.  You will get a lot more answers there!  Please stick around as there is a lot of wisdom and understanding on that forum!!!!
