7-10 days the pain mentally and physically will dramatically drop. Although to fully get back to functioning normally it takes a couple months or so.
Beginning of day 9. Thirteen years ago I fell off a horse a my foot got caught in the stirrup which then I was dragged by the horse. My pelvic bone, coccyx and sacratic plate were fractured in five different spots.
Unfortunately I am alone in this situation. I feel really devastated by my doctor and feel that the situation could of been handled differently. He stopped taking my calls and would have his receptionist call to tell me there is nothing more he can do...I felt that maybe a conversation face to face explains why he can't help and maybe discuss options would of been professional and quite frankly necessary.
The depression is killing me. I don't know if this makes sense but I don't want the pills especially after this w/d bs that we go through...who would knowingly subject themselves to this again?? I cannot fathom this, I just want the pain, depression and fatigue to end!!!!
Hey girl! Damn, I can't believe your doctor cut you off like that. What a jerk! I'm sorry that you're going thru this alone. Do you have friends? Family? That can help you? I'm a mommy too. So, I know how difficult it is to detox... FML! I also got into a car accident 8 years ago. Broke my entire back... You're on day 8, which is awesome. You'll have your good days and bad days. Totally normal. Stay close to this forum, we'll definitely help you out.
Sorry your doctor did this to you. It's not right. You don't mention what kind of pain you have or where it is. There are a lot of different ways to try to manage pain from exercise, physical therapy, occupational therapy, gels, compounding creams, other types of medications, patches, and different procedures.
It's also normal when you come off pain meds for pain to increase temporarily. After you're off them for a while, your pain will sort of reset to what your real pain level is. Some people find that they are able to manage their pain much better off the pain pills.
You should start feeling a little better in the next day or so. Drink lots of fluids and look at the Thomas recipe and Amino Acid Protocol for an idea of supplements and things that will help minimize your symptoms.
There's also a pain management forum here and it may be helpful for you to post on that with regards to your pain issues. It's not as active as this forum and in the past couple of years the "regulars" have moved on, which is unfortunate. But you still may get some use out of it.
Ok, ok, I read yout post wrong. You did NOT have it before the pills. I'm sorry. SO what you are experiencing with the depression is normal. I had it and thought I would never ever get better. But I did. It's a very common symptom. It should get better. Keep busy. Laying in bed and on the couch made it sooo much worse for me.
Hugs!!
Congratulations on 8 days! You know how tough it is, so don't ever go back or you'll have to go through this again. Depression is normal. But you said you had it before the pills, so I think you should go to the dr. I had bad depression when I was still on the pills but wanted to come off. Then I had it during detox and two weeks after. Then it really got better. For me the depression was like I lost someone I love. I laid on the couch sulking, not wanting to do something, like something was missing and I was bored. It will get better, but since you had it beforehand, I would see a dr.
You can do this. I know right now it seems like it will never get better and you'll always feellike this, but it just takes time. Your brain is going haywhire because it doesn't have what it's used to.
Hang on and keep going, my friend!!
You know, it really doesn't seem right that your doc stopped treating you without any backup plan. You have legit pain issues and you've been left out in the cold on your own. I don't know what you can do. Hopefully someone will come on this thread who CAN help. In the mean time, just count on the time passing. And I promise, the depression and anxiety will go away. Really. You'll have bad days clean but I guarantee you that the level of depression and/or anxiety will never be where it is now.

Hi there, and welcome. I too went into a depression after I quit taking pills. My depression got worse as time went by. I finally saw my doctor and after trying a couple of different antidepressants, I finally found one that really helped. Don't let your depression go to far without talking to a doctor. Some depression after quitting pain pills is normal, just don't let it go on too long.
You have been given some great advice. Drink lots of fluids, and eat as well as you can. The best thing for me was to get outside and get some exercise. Take short walks, at first, in the sunshine if possible. It may be the last thing you want to do, but it helps tremendously. Take vitamins. At 8 days, you should be about done with the worst of the physical symptoms.
Take care, and keep posting with any questions you may have. You will find lots of great support here. All the best!
Thank you all for being there
I never have had depression that is why I am freaking out. My other issue is walking thus the reason for pain mess. I was in a bad accident thirteen years ago and started getting prolo therapy about two years ago and they started the pain med program. My doctor decided he can't help me anymore and just cut me out without a referral to another doctor etc. I am at a loss I have no insurance or options for the pain and of course that increases my anxiety and depression cause at least with the shots in my spine I was getting relief
Welcome to the forum. A question...Did you have depression issues prior to using the pills? If so, then you need to see your doc. If not, then what you're going through is very normal.
The physical aspect of detox is relatively easy compared to the mental battle, and that includes depression and anxiety. You should be getting to the end of the bad stuff; but honestly, the emotional roller coaster can last a couple of months, getting better as time passes.
A couple of things - first, eat. Keep your body nourished. And if you've been visiting the bathroom a lot during the detox, then get drinks that have electrolytes. Try to take short walks. Exercise. Others will be along to offer suggestions, i.e., vitamins. But for me, it was a very simple formula...
Food + exercise+ time = success. Don't dwell on what you're going through. Don't over dramatize the struggle. Simple. All the best,

Congratulations on your days so far..When we use substance it knocks down the serintoin, endorphins, gabba, norepinephrine..And lots more depending on the drug too. ALL of this takes time to Balance back. As a long time user I was told at least a year or two. I have passed a year and feel so much better. For you it should not take that long since it was one med..Mine was 3 that I c/t..If your depression goes on you can try a AD med to help recycle these transmitters again..Just for awhile or you can just ride it out and take a lot of vit/min. There are many that are Brain Builders. The BEST thing to do is Exercise..Any that you can do..Small walks to jogging..It all depends on how weak or strong you feel..Just keep it up and remember with TIME comes PATIENCE!!!!!
Bless
