Help quitting tramadol

I have been trying to take methadone to stop using tramadol does anyone know if this will work? I was taking 1400mg of tramadol a day.

I was on methadone for 11 years off and on and speaking from personal expirience dont even get started on methadone all youll be doing is going from one drug to another only thing is that your graduating from preschool and moving straight up college on the whole drug chain methadone to me is for people who still want to get high or dont have time in thier 9 to 5 lives to go in to rehab. all i'm saying is that find the will to stop and do it it will be painful but after the rain there will be rainbows.

Ohhh yeah I can not believe a doctor would put you on methadone wd that is crazy .You are going from do from the frying pan into a 4 alarm fire .Tramadol can be tapered off it is going to have to be slow and it going to take time but it nothing like what you are going to experience coming of methadone .... Let us know how you are doing.

i agree with the others i would not take methadone to come off of tramdol at all because the w/d from methadone is 100x worse then tramdol ever could be. I am on methadone and its helped me but also when I come off it will be hard. You can read all kinds post on here about m'done detox.... who put you on m'done

Chopper is right,I would not recommend methadone to come off of tramadol.I was on methadone for almost 2 years because of a huge vicodin addiction and I compare going from the vikes to the methadone much like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

Did your Dr. prescribe the methadone to you and what dose is it 5mg or 10mg???  Methadone is allot stronger and will be just as hard if not harder to get off.  

How long have you been taking the methadone?

In my opinion this is like cutting of your arm because your finger hurts!!!

Where are you getting the methadone? Are you going to a clinic?
