Awesome job! I'm 48 and quit a couple of years ago similar to the way you're doing; I tapered for three weeks but my doses were more frequent in the beginning. Excedrin and Excedrin PM were my friends during tapering and after I quit. Lots of fluids, Thomas Recipe, Amino Acid Protocol and most importantly, exercise. The exercise provided other goals while helping me cleanse my body of the toxins. I see you're sweating but that's OK and will pass.
Keep going...you're old enough now to realize that taking a step back is a no go for us older guys.

First let me say it is dangerous to split any cottins. They are time release tablet and when you split them you negotiate that and risk over dose. As for what you are going through it is "normal." Until you get to the point of abstaining completely you will continue to string along the wds. So when you finally go completely cold turkey the real healing will begin. It can take a few days to a few weeks depending on.... Warn bathes/showers. Force at least one good meal and a glass of milk down your throat once daily. Drink lots of water. Perhaps a multi-vitamin. Get up out of bed while you can and walk a bit. Pray for to GOD for strength. Congratulations on parenthood. Kids are such a joy. You can do this. Good luck. GOD bless. I'm pulling for you.
There are amino acid suppliments that help make sure your body has all the essential building blocks for the neuro-transmitters your brain need to produce to get back to normal. It still takes time. I admire your "damn the torpedoes" attitude but I'm not so sure you can do this at work. I was using for 5 years and it took 5-6 days just to be able to get out of the house. Then another week of hanging on by my fingertips at work. Do what you have to but I'm just trying to set some realistic expectations. There's the thomas recipe. I call it using asprin for a migraine but it can help. The best part of the recipe, immodium. What a miracle drug. You definantly need to have some of that. After the initial withdrawal of 5 - 10 days the worst part for me was the chronic fatigue, for a couple months. I think this is the hardest part. Its the part where I fell off the wagon several times. I also have a history like you. Meth was a piece of cake to put away. You have a battle on your hands. You can do it but it takes some dicipline. Don't let the "I have to get this done today" situations get you back on the pills. Sleeping or lack thereof, its brutal. I almost always caution people about using benzos (xanax, valium, etc) because of the abuse potential and that getting off of those after long term use is no joke. With that said, having enough to put you to sleep for that first week is golden! I don't think the rules of the site allow me to talk about doses but you probably already know how much you might need for a week. Just imagine staying awake for that week you talked about, only you don't have enough energy to get up and pee. This is not ver organized, off the top of my head. I'm here to answer any questions or clarify any of my comments. Getting off was very much worth it for so many reasons and I've been a hard core abuser of substances for 40 years.
