thanks for the advise, thought i would get out to a store and get whatever Vitamins an supplements that have been suggested, i know i can't do all this after just a few posts but it really does feel better after telling all of you. Its like my big secret is out, as i said before i have been reading everyones posts for the last week and that has also helped knowing that other people are on the same roller coaster, and some made it OFF.

Hi, welcome to the forum. You have definitely come to the right place; the people, information & support on here are a Godsend.

You are on the right track, just do a slow manageable taper, even if it's going to take you a year; it is your absolute best bet. This is what I am doing right now. Aside from my taper off OxyContin & Oxycodone (prescribed for lower back problems) I have now started an exercise program which is fairly light (cardio for twenty minutes, four days per week and some light weights) I am also supplementing with a Multi-Vitamin, Amino Acids, Omega 3-6-9 Fish Oil Capsules and daily protein shakes. When I finally do jump off I want to be in the best condition possible to (hopefully) reduce not just the initial five to six days of withdrawal, but also the psychological anguish, which comes after.

Do not feel bad about this, prescription narcotic addiction is a wide spread epidemic that has affected very many people. Just take your time and prepare yourself as best you can to minimize not just the withdrawal and post withdrawal but also the chances of relapse.

We are all here to help,

God Bless,

TD
