Hi tcr, Glad you spoke to your Dr. From what I have read and the ones I know that have gone to rehab for benz addiction it was not as easy as it was presented. They felt ok while in rehab, but than backslide once they got home. The problem was that most rehabs were not long enough to fully get they bodied acclimated to function without the meds. Unlike opiates, benz's can't be stopped in a few days or even a few weeks without lasting symptoms. Just be sure and do your homework here. Wishing you lots of luck.
Well I talked to my doctor, and he suggested inpatient rehab. He says it will take too long wing off, since I have taken Xanax XR 2mg (extended release).
The rehab will cost me the amount of $3000. I want to know if anyone knows a cheaper rehab facility?
Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Addicted is right. Valium or even ativan can ease you off and is longer acting. I would not hesitate to ask your Doc on this. Weather it is prescribed or not, you will need a script for the valium. You have a huge goal to strive for. You will still not feel on top of the world while transitioning, but keep a positive attitude, you'll do fine.
You would be best off switching to valium for a few weeks n then weening down off that. Xanax is a nasty one to come off of. I went c/t from 8mg a day habit and thought I was going to literally die. Its very dangerous to come off CT so be careful. There are many people here who can give u good advice. Its early on a saturday though give it some time and youll get some answers.
