How do you get off of subuxone?

I got off of methadone last summer, and did good for about eight months.  A break up with my boyfriend, and I began using vicodin.  Knowing where that leads, for me, I got on subuxone.  Now the cost of the medication and doctor visits is killing me.  I am trying to taper down on it, but I am extremely sick, with terrible headache, no energy, and nausea.  I have a nine year old daughter and it is hard to take care of her like this.  Does anyone have any suggestions that might help make it easier or quicker?   Thank you.

yeah go real slow...i was on sub for aobut 9 months i am now on methadonea nd ti works a lot better for me..i was on 32 mgs of sub a day and was able to taper down to 24 mgs and then to 16 mgs, then 8 and thats where it gets tricky and you have to be careful. depending on how long youve been on suboxone from 8 mgs i would go down very slowly fromt here like a mg at most from there and even if you feel fine dont even try and mess with going down way lower it will only come to haunt you a few days later, ive been through it and its hell...if you have any other questionsa obut suboxone treatment let me know  ive been through it all, realpsing, actually being taken off by my addiction specialist and put on 240 mg s of ms contin(morphine) daily for a brokened wrist, so ive many scenarios and situations regarding sub so aska way...best of luck- christos

How many are you taking a day ?  And how much did you cut out to taper ?  How long have you been on suboxone ?  Ive got a friend that is currently on suboxone and a friend who has quit suboxone a few months ago.  My friend that quit was taking a half pill so 4 mg 3 times a day morning, afternoon, night. so 12 mgs a day.  She ended up going to two half's for twice a day for a week then went to a half tablet daily for a week then for 2 weeks she split the half's into quarters and just took a quarter pill daily for like 2 weeks then stopped.  She said she felt a little bit of withdrawals but not bad.  She was on suboxone for like 8 months total.

it sounds like your tapering too fast, slow down on the taper...try dropping .25 mgs every 2 weeks...or less if you can do it.
suboxone has to be tapered at an extremely slow rate to the lowest dose possible, even to just a small crumb, less than .25 if possible, then take it every day, then every other day, then every 3rd day and so on...contact Lovepat she helped her son with a very successful taper off sub and hes feeling and doing great!! i will get her exact screen name for you...BRB...
