How does Suboxone work?

I've seen alot of questions regarding suboxone, but I'm wondering if anyone can point me to a thread where it explains exactly how one starts on suboxone, how it works, and how long you are on it for? Any info would be so greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

If you have a narcotic problem, this is the answer. Suboxone saved my life. But I am trying to keep my dose low. It's the only drug I've ever taken that I haven't abused. I've been on it since April 2008.  Just keep your dose low.  It works on the brain receptors, so opiates will not work. And the craving for narcotics is instantly erased, and it helps with pain. For half the people it's the best killer there is. Truly amazing.

Emily ,If you go down to the health pages there is info on sub . You have to go to a special doctor that prescribes it not all docs do.What was your DOC and how long did you use it .
