Good for you for making the jump...and happy new year(:  Tapering was horrible for me...detox is rough but you get through it and will feel better about yourself and with yourself as time goes by....Just take it one moment at a time.  I echo all the wise advice above-it was given to me 27 days ago when I went CT and I followed it and have never looked back....Be kind to yourself and stay positive and when all else fails...Pray.  To whomever you need to pray to...And keep posting here...there is always someone to listen to you vent, answer questions and concerns and just plain send you support and prayers...Be proud of yourself and take good care.....Lu

I agree with everyone - just let yourself feel whatever you are feeling.  I found the more I resisted the symtpoms of withdrawal the worse they became.

Follow the home remedies found here and take extra good care of yourself for a while - like you would when you had a horrible cold or flu.  The emotions will be all over the place for a while and that's normal.

Try a hot shower or bath with epsom salts.  It will help relieve the anxiety for a bit and helps with body aches and headaches as well.

It will get better.  :)

Just go ahead and cry. It's a sad thing and we know it...just be sure you eat and drink!  Eating will make you feel a lot better and noodles are the best!

Take Excedrin or Motrin for the headache; it actually works!

Here are some wise words by my Mother: "This, too, shall pass." (yeah, she thinks she's a prophet...) but the words are true; it gets better.

Get rid of any that you have hanging around!!!

I'm glad you made the decision to just stop. Tapering is tricky and hard.

I understand that you are not feeling well--today is day 1 and it is usually a rough one. If you haven't done this before, expect about a week of flu like symptoms and then the physical part will begin to diminish.

What are you doing to take care of yourself? Vitamins, anything? Make certain that you stay hydrated and try and keep some food in. It is important to keep your strength up during this.

Remember this is only temporary and you have taken a giant step toward getting your life back. Hang in there and be good to yourself.
