How long do the withdrawals last?

I have been on pain med for 4 years now. Orginally doctor presribed for lower back pain. I stopped taking them 4 weeks ago. I took suboxin to help with the withdrawals. The other day i took a couple of loratabs for pain. Will this send me back into withdrawals? I am also very depressed and don't have the want to get out of bed. How long does this awful feeling last?

oh sweetie, sorry you feel so crappy. Each time you use anything it prolongs the detox. Try stopping all of it and it will take some time, but each day and each week will get better. Days 6, 10, 17, 30 made a big difference. See if you can try a little exercise. Just walking and being outside will help the process along. I know the weakness and can't get out of bed feeling well. I just went thru a CT of my own over X-mas and I've slipped up a couple times too. We just have get through 5-10 days and we'll feel significantly stronger. Eat well too. I did this in August I'm ashamed to say. But by thirty days I felt a lot better. Still have days of chills, depression, weakness here and there, but they do stop. I remember sometimes bad days would come in threes, but then you turn a corner. You're not alone. Do it one day at a time, I'll be doing the same. Just want you to know it does really get better. Truly better, we just have to stay clean each day. Once you stop the other meds, it will only be 3-5 days and then they'll be a big difference. Just takes time. I'll be thinking of you as I try to follow this same advice. I apologize to anyone annoyed by my giving feedback when I'm messing up too, but I just wanted to hold out hope and support for you. Sometimes hearing the details from someone who just went, or is also going through it helps. Everyone is different of course, but I'm sure others would allow me to suggest that it is worth going forward. It does get better. Hang in there and keep me posted, the details help me feel more encouraged and less alone. Hugs, K
