How long does the actual Detoxification last?

I know there isn't a set number of hours or days but I am very curious as to how long opiates stay in your body after steady usage one year long? Anyone know??

I actually, with my sister went straight to a private clinic that did urine tests. I blew that poor girl's mind when I told her I wanted to check myself for a number of drugs. You should have seen the look on her face. Especially when I came back and she also told me I tested neg. for any drugs. Then I told her the whole story. I swear if I'd been in a better mood I'd of laughed my butt off. But I never thought of him having to unload some of his patients. My sister in law goes to him (has gone to him for quite some time) she has, now that memory serves me, has told me he has had to wean some of his patients from time to time. As for the crystal light. I don't for a min. think that's what it was. It was my poor husband's attempt to find a rational answer for me. Since he can attest to me taking me drugs ( and his when I thought I needed). It's still biazzare. But I think now it's been a gift from up above. At times, a test from above!! Have had a slight set back. Have had dental issues and broke down and had my vicodin filled. But am back on track now. I guess what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I am a little worried though I'm due to have 11 teeth pulled soon (within 30 days, I hope). Don't know if I can withstand that many teeth being pulled and stay off the narc. any suggestions???

Did you ever happen to get a self test from the drug store.I think your doc may have been lying to you for some reason.I don't think tea can do that.If it weren't in your system you would be in withdrawal for sure.crystal light is mostly sugar and water anyway.Maybe your doc was in trouble and had to unload some patients.Who knows, glad your clean though

Sure did. Let me give you a little of my story. I was in a motocycle accident in 2008. Went to a pain management Dr. who promptley asked me what pills I would like (should have been a reason to run and run fast). Anyway, since then I was on vicodin, fiorocet w/codiene, klonopin and last but not least Ambien. About 6mths. before I tested negative (yes negative for everything) I knew I had a problem and I knew my Dr. wasn't really managing my pain, he was just keeping his buisness going. So I go in for a urine test (Dr. only started doing urine test due to the rise in pressure for him to do so). No problem, I'm so taking everything he's giving me. Next mth, a little strange but he asks me to take another urine test. Again no problem, I'm taking everything he's giving me. The next mth. he calls me into his office and tells me I've been non compliant with my drugs. After coming out of shock, I look at him and tell him there has to be a mistake. I'm taking everything he's giving me. So right then and there he makes me take another urine test. Again, no problem. Wrong!! He tells me I tested negative for the drugs!! I still to this day can't explain what the hell happened??? Any thoughts?? Anyway, I'm just glad it did. I wouldn't have quit otherwise. Now my husband has a theroy. He says I was drinking over a gallon of the crystal light teas. But it's his theory!! I personally don't have any. Yeah, that's my crazy story and to date I have heard of no one that has actually tested false negotive??

Many doctors test their patients to make sure they are taking their pain medication for its intended purpose and not selling them. When a doctor does test, and the patient comes up negative, they cut them off and many times discharge them as a patient. I'm sure you've heard of "false positives" on a urinalysis. There are also "false negatives". I'm guessing kamora had a "false negative", was cutoff and had no choice but to get clean due to no longer having a script. It turned out to be a good thing!

you tested negative for opiates, but because you didn't test positive for opiates, you got sober and clean?

Honestly,it's gotta be different for everyone. I only started getting clean after I pissed negative for opiates. Something I should have tested positive on. Because believe you me I was taking my vicoden and then some. Still can't figure out how it happened. Just glad it did. It was what I needed to get off the pills. I know from my experience that I went through about 5-7 days of physical w/d. The mental is way worse (sorry but I'd be lying if I told you different) Still going through the mental part. The only physical thing I'm dealing with is the lack of sleep. But as I make it through each day, I do think I'm getting a little better.
