possible vicodin withdrawal?

My boyfriend was injured at work on april 2nd. He was taken to the er for stitches and prescribed vicodin 5mg. He had surgery a couple weeks ago and was given more vicodin. At the beginning he was taken about 8 vicodin a day and has now only been taking 1 or 2 a day as his last script is almost done. He's been feeling nauseous, achey, anxious and having the runs. I'm assuming its from the vicodin but is it possible to have withdrawals after an almost two month time period of using vicodin regularly?

I'm trying to make him more comfortable if it is withdrawal since I have a general idea of what has helped others here after my withdrawal last year.

I'm doing great. I've been in therapy for my anxiety and haven't been taking the xanax now that I've been learning better ways to cope with my panic attacks naturally. I've finally gotten my appetite back. That was the worst part of the withdrawal..the "benzo belly". It seemed like it took forever for that to go away.

I told my bf at this point to just stop the vicodin entirely. He might as well just get it over with and I'm sure he'll be feeling ok by wed or thursday since he wasn't taking them too long and his wd's are relatively mild. His finger is healing faster than the docs expected, he doesn't even need physical therapy anymore because his nerves are pretty much healed. The surgery was to reconnect the nerves he cut in his finger. So all in all we're both healing and he just needs to get over this little wd bump and everything will be fine.

Yep, make sure he drinks plenty of fluids.  Let him know this is just temporary and he will feel better.  Hope his finger is healing.  How are you doing Erin?

Yea..he's uncomfortable from the symptoms but not incapacitated. He's still able to get some sleep and eat. I figured it was slight withdrawal and was just going to have him get plenty of fluids and try some of the other remedies from that thomas recipe. I just feel bad because he legitmately needed the meds since he practically cut his finger off and now he's healing but he doesn't feel good. He's been pretty down so I want to help as much as I can.

Sounds like withdrawal symptoms for sure!  I would assume just a couple months of Vic use would make it a bit easier but everyone is different!
