I have no idea about robaxin - but my guess is that any drug after 5 years is not going to work as intended.
I've seen many people here have the same experience that I've had though - that after coming off the pills, your pain isn't nearly as bad as it is ON the pills. I really think because your body craves the opiates, it creates more pain - and creates a vicious circle.
I have severe disc degenerative disease - 4 of my discs are pretty much non-exisistant. I've had severe nerve pain, lower back pain, hip pain, leg pain, etc - and it's ALL improved since coming off the pills and is helped by simple over the counter pain meds. (I've also started taking other supplements as well - and I believe it's a combination of everything, including exercise & healthy living - that's made the difference in my pain levels.)
You can do this!
I too have fibro, nasty devil isn't it. But the hydros are probably giving you more pain signals! I am 98 days off them and feel pretty good. Look on the pages for the Thomas recipe. It vitamins and amino acids to help with the wd process. I would also talk to ur doc . Light exercise will help around day 2. Just talk a walk. It will help when you feel all nerved up. Make sure to take vitamin D and magnesium. They help with both wd and fibro. You can do this!
I was reading about this Robaxin last night, a good friend of mine who is in a wheelchair since birth and has spina bifida was prescribed this last week, never been prescribed this before, so i was checking it out and it seems alot of people believe it had helped or is helping their pain along with helping them relax and sleep better. 5 years is really old though, i don't know if they will have any effect at all after that long, not sure though, all just my opinion. Robaxin is a skeletal muscle relaxant similar to flexaril, good luck to you, i can only imagine how fibro is, have heard horror stories, but off pills you will find that the pain is very manageable, IMO....hapy hoilidays too :)
one comment. Tramadol IS addictive. Check out the tramadol group here.
Yeah, I used to be a member of that tramadol "group" so find another alternative. :)
