A 'New' Withdrawal Symptom?

As with many others, this is not my first time here and I am very disappointed in myself for having arrived here again, but so thankful for the support, knowledge and encouragement from everyone.
Some of you know that my fiance and I successfully detoxed from methadone 2.5 years ago - which is just a traumatic experience to endure.  There have also been times that we have suffered through withdrawals as a result of morphine, oxycontin, percocet, dilaudid(sp?), etc. and all are extremely miserable...I know you all can probably understand that all too well.  So, as addicts, we are aware of the symptoms that are associated with withdrawals  My question is regarding a sort of nausea that I have been experiencing - not the usual nausea - I feel as if something is in my throat and my chest is almost 'fluttery'...I have never had an issue with anxiety but coming off suboxone I have encountered some feelings of anxiety.  Although my stomach feels raw and sour, the most uncomfortable feelings are between my chest and throat.  The most relief comes in small intervals lying on my stomach with my arms tucked underneath - but for the most part, it is nearly impossible to stay still. This is new to me and I was curious if perhaps others have had these strange feelings that are hard for me to explain?
Thanks for all of your help and support.

I have taken suboxone in very small doses for a few months off and on.  I have never taken very much suboxone...and I tapered from appx. 1 or 2 mg down to micro-mg - and finished that last Thursday.
I am just surprised after all of the withdrawals I have suffered from over the past 4 years, this feeling of anxiety would surface.  I am attributing it to suboxone...I have intuitively felt a very negative energy about suboxone since being introduced to it...moreso than any other drug.  I cannot elaborate or explain that, nor can I provide the information to support it because it simply is intuition (that the addict in me chose to ignore) -
I am very thankful to be getting past this - thanks so much for all of your help and support.  If the strange feelings that I experienced on Saturday and again today occur again, I will go to the ER -

I am getting too old for this too -

I have what sounds to be the same thing. Mine felt like I needed to burp when the pain comes up and felt like a knife. The knife feeling would come and go in close intervals making myself extremely uncomfortable and in pretty bad pain. I dont know if this is quite what you are feeling or not but it was the first time I felt this as well, and I have detoxed from oxy, methadones, and subs before. May sound silly or strange, but I took rolaids and it would almost completely stop the pain coming up in my chest. If you have some already around or you are out and could easily pick some up I would say its definitley worth a shot. I also noticed when I layed down it would almost always make the pains start happening.

Feohmoon, you've got a couple threads going here so I kinda have lost the picture as to where you are at in regard to stopping the opiate use and switching over to subs.

Can you refresh our memories as to where your at? Are you still taking the sub at an elevated dose and doing a taper down as instructed by your doctor or on a set dose at the moment with no taper plan initiated yet?

How long have you been away from the pain meds and on the sub? I know you had filled in the blanks early on when you came back up on the site but I can't seem to find it...David

I also think you should see a doctor. I am on suboxone 16mg and I think I have the same feeling you are experiencing. I have like a fluttery weird feeling may like a jitter chest, a little short of breath and I am having a lot of trouble with anxiety also,I just started noticing it a few days ago. I am also having a weird feeling in my head. I was vomiting a few days ago and I have the weirdest feeling of this feeling in my head and feels like my heart is flopping sometimes. I have also felt sort of a twinge in my body.

I went to see my suboxone doctor today and again no doctor just a nurse passing out meds. I am beginning to wonder if something is going on that is not good with me. I have never had heart problems but now I am thinking something is wrong especially since I read your post. I do have an appointment with my new family doctor on thursday and I am really going to give him all the symptoms.

Please you see doctor also. I don't feel right about this. Maybe I will go to ER. I wish you both luck with your detox. Please you need to see a doctor soon.

Dont play around with this.....I had a heart attack last year and all my pain was in my throat! I went to the ER thinking it was indigestion. Please at least go somewhere and check your BP.....call your doc if it is high!

I had an awful time on my last withdrawal and because I have heart disease to start with that seems to be where the symptoms "settled" for lack of a better term. So what I pray was my last withdrawal was the worst! You are right, age is a factor and I am getting too old for this!!

Just keep an eye on it and if anything odd happens, please go to the ER.

Let us know how you are doing.

Yes, it is strange that a new withdrawal symptom would surface.  I should see a doctor, and although I know I cannot put a price on my health, we do not have insurance right now, nor do I have the money to go to the doctor.  I know they are required to treat me at the ER (and I will take that route if this continues) but I do not want to affect my credit.
Common sense tells me that as we get older, withdrawals are worse and the more abuse we have put our bodies through - the worse withdrawals are.  Coming off this very low dosage of suboxone has been eerily familiar to methadone.  And the suboxone doctors in this area tell people there are no withdrawals.  For some reason, I have felt intuitively negative about suboxone since I was first introduced.  I know it has helped many people but some of the doses people are being given are huge amounts, especially for such a strong drug.
Thank you for your help - Steven and I are ready to be past this, we have so many things to be thankful for, and to find joy in, in our life...it is sad how pills can cloud that.
Hope all is well for you.

I did not have that particular symptom during any detox but I don't like the sound of it and do wish you would go see your doctor. It may be nothing but you shouldn't fool around with it.

I hope this is over for you both soon.
