I failed miserably :(

Well I just couldn't take it anymore and I bumped back up to the 50mcg. I feel like such a loser. I just couldn't handle all the symptoms and no sleep. My question what is worse fentanyl or subs withdrawal?? Also bumping down to 50mcg to 25mcg how long would the symptoms last? I'm just so frustrated and don't know where to go from here. Idk if I should try going down to 25mcg again this weekend or if I should just go the subs route. Why why was I so stupid to start this stuff!!!! I'm just so angry, frustrated and feel like a complete low life loser.

Do not feel like a loser. You can only do what you can do. You gave effort and that's what counts. Before I went CT I tried to taper for a month. I couldn't hack it. I don't know if subs are worse to come of of than fentanyl....but I hear fentanyl is a real betch.. Can you try slower? Maybe knock of 10?...slow and steady wins the race with these hi powered opiates.

But do not beat yourself up over it please. Chin up.....move forward. You'll make it.

Best of luck.

Have you tried suboxone?  I had a raging addiction to pain meds for 13 years...I thought I was a lost cause and I would die an addict. I tried hundreds if times to quit on my own but couldn't make it more than a couple days. I finally had a breakdown when I ran out and decided i can't live life like this anymore. So I checked into a hospital program for detox and a 2 week rehab stay and it was the best decision I have ever made. I was given meds to ease the withdrawal symptoms and suboxone was one of them. I owe my sobriety to suboxone...truly. I have heard horror stories about stopping subs but I had very few issues when I cut them off. This is just my experience but if anyone ever asks about this med I am all for it. Don't let horror stories scare you away...make up your own mind but please research suboxone or talk to a doctor to see if its right for you.  I'm at 105 days and my life just keeps getting brighter and brighter. I can't stress the importance of stopping now and how many rewards sobriety brings to your life...it's up to you to be honest with yourself and everyone important to you and cutting off your sources for pills. If you have access to them you have a huge chance for relapse. This can be done...and YOU CAN DO IT!  Seriously, if I can...anyone can. Keep posting for support...everyone here is so wonderful...we can give you tons of support and encouragement..you're going to need it. Good luck and keep your chin up...it does get better...then greater....then total happiness!!!!
