Like it was mentioned, your liver will rejuvinate if you stop and allow it the time.
I don't think anyone can say the difference between a drinker and a drug abuser. that is specific to the individual.
Please don't blame the doctors. They don't get us addicted, WE do. We need to take responsibility for our addictions in order to recover.
So now you are scared and know that it is time to stop. You can have your life back and your health. A taper is a great idea if you have someone to help you with it by holding your pills and handing them out. Most of us can't do it alone. Three a day is not that much in the overall scheme of things and you could taper successfully from that.
That is why I always preach to people to do there own research before taking meds. Drs. dont care about the long run. They just want to get you feeling better and once they see it works they just keep shoving them in your face until its to late. Its up to us to decide what should go into our bodies not the docs. Pain meds are great for short term pain but when it comes to cronic pain you really need to seek out alternate methods. The amount of meds you have taken wont mess with your liver. And by the way the liver is the one organ that cannot heal itself. You may want to taper down your meds before you give detox another shot. Your body needs to recoop from the last try. Cut by a pill every week and when you feel better give it a shot.
What is worse for the liver a chronic drinker or someone who has just pain pills for a few years? Ive always wondered if someone knew the answer. Im trying to calm down about my liver im so scared that im going to die. I hate this. I hate ever trying my first pill and that was because of surgery. Why do doctors prescribe people this medication for people for years i dont understand if its supposed to hurt your liver it seems like doctors are doing it on purpose.
You have not killed your liver yet. But you are trying to. You do need to keep with your plan to stop them...... When you start to get that "freaking out" feeling again try some breathing exercises...... inhale deeply and slowly to a ten count - - all the way to the bhudda belly......then let the air out slowly to that same ten count...all the way out. And repeat as needed.
Your LIVER will has an amazing ability to rejuvinate... You just need some time....
