I flushed them

Hey guys. After taking 2 halves of the percocet prescribed to me after my accident i flushed the remaining 29. They werent giving me any relief from the pain and they made me feel the high. That scare the crap outta me. Since they gave no relief I said fu#* it and got rid of them. My recovery is going to be slow with broken ribs but im willing to work thru the pain more than i am willing to fall into active addiction. I am clean 17 days and even though im in pain i feel amazing and im damn proud of ME. Havent felt that way in a long time and forgot how good it feels. Thank u 2 all of u for ur kind encouraging words and all the get well messages. I love yall. Ima keep doing what i do!

Broken ribs SUCK. they were the reason for my relapse at the first of 2010. I had to be on pain meds and went crazy. If you can tough it out that is best!  Thay do take a good 6 weeks to heal though.

Thanks all! After talking with the dr and she could see I was serious about my recovery and managing the pain she prescribed an anti inflammatory and prescription strength motrin. She was almost trying to talk me into staying on the percs  saying even tho im in recovery and what not i dont deserve being in this pain. While I agree with that I told her my recovery and clean time means more to me than dealing with the pain. I had a good session with my addiction therapist today and she seems to think I am punishing myself by doing this. Maybe. Maybe not. But I told her i believe in karma and mine is showing itself. lol either way i know in my heart i did what was best for me and will do what EVER  it takes to protect my sobriety and clean time. Thanks again EVERYONE for the kind and caring words.

You have every right to be damn proud of "me"!! Isn't it a great feeling knowing that "you" are in control of "you" again? I will keep getting better and better as long as you stay in recovery which I know you will.

I sure hope you heal up fast and the pain subsides.

Way to go!!

Congratulations, you should be proud of yourself and deserve a pat on the back, high five, and a new set of shoes.

Way to go!  Always put your recovery above everything else, and you can be proud of yourself that way!  The most important thing right now is to be very gentle with yourself and take it easy.  If you feel like you are in too much pain then ask for something else like Toradol or another anti inflammatory.  No medals are given for dealing with horrendous pain ok?  There are options!

I'm very proud of you! : )

Thanks Anne. I truly appreciate it. They advised me NOT to tape my ribs cuz they broke right where they protect my kidney. I had blood in my urine and an ultrasound showed swelling. So they are calling it a bruised kidney and no taping to allow for the kidney to swell without added pressure from the tape. Thank you for your thought and care though. Its truly appreciated.
