Suburex is like suboxone... Only it doesn't have the ingredient in it that suboxone does that makes u withdrawl if u have opiates still in Ur system.....
My doc gives the subutex first so the wd's don't happen and then after a couple of days gives u suboxone. Subutex is white and flavorless and is dissolved under the toungue... Suboxone is orange and tastes ( to me) like expired Tang haha.. It's dissolved under the toungue as well.
Bad taste or not they've changed my life!!!
thanks guys! I was really worried at first. but i guess where I have been on strictly methadone for over 3 years it feels weird to be trying something different. I took a whole pill just a minute ago. I felt pretty bad this morning. It has been 3 days with no methadone now. I am very happy about that , no matter if I do feel bad.
I think u were right about the anxiety because I was really terrified of what it was gonna do to me. But now I just keep telling myself that it is for the better! I used to have panic attacks but I quit smoking and have not had any in the last 4 months.
Anyway I really appreciate u guys taking the time to talk to me.
THANK YOU!
Flmagi is absolute right --- When taking any Sub - Less is better. If you plan on getting off Sub (a wise choice) soon, then you want to only take enough to stave off the hard W/D's, not all of them -- If you can get off in under 2 or 3 weeks you may save yourself some real punishing W/D's when you do quit. All the best.
Subutex is the same as Suboxone minus the Naltroxene.
Basslover, Sounds like the chest problem may be an anxiaty attach, but if it happens again, you may want to get it checked. If you can get by on 1 mg of Subutex and not be in bad withdrawels, there is no need for you to go to 2 mgs. The less Sub the better.
My spelling is going to be horrible but.... Suboxone consists of Buprenorpine and Naltroxene and is dissolved under the tongue in tablet form.
Ive never gotten subutex but I think it is the same thing but in powder form (someone feel free to correct me) and I think they might use a different opoid blocker then naltroxene
SUBUTEX>.... is a prescrption medication, (schedule 3 i believe... not sure there) that is used for opiate dependency/withdrawl and and/or pain management. It is simialr to SUBOXONE, howveer it has an ingredient in it that puts you in an almost "instant withdrawl" if it is snorted or injected. Not good obviously.
I am sure that someone with more knowldge of the drug, maybe a professional on the board, can tel you more.
I think I am in the wrong country or something. I thought I was pretty hip to all the drug slang. When you say "Meth" I think, Meth Amphetamine. I think you are talking about Methadone. I am in the states by the way.
Methadone is very nasty.
Please tell me what Subutex is???
Thanx
Ohh...you'll find Sub is a WHOLE NEW WORLD!!! Being a Sub taker myself....I think you're doing the right thing by switching...
Have you asked the doc about your chest thing?? That never happened to me....I felt just great 1st go (they gave me Subutex to start as well) but everyone is diff.
Maybe it's anxiety? I know us addicts like to stick with our drug of choice on most occasions...and when trying to get sober and changing tactics to do so can make ya nervous!!! I about had a nervous breakdown before I had my Sub appointment!!
Talk to your doc about your chest..otherwise I say take it as prescribed.
There is a girl in my group who was on Methadone for 8 years (yeah, can ya believe it??) and she said that she had one HELL of a time in the beginning of Sub merely b/c the methadone is HORRIBLE to come off of any way ya do it.
Good luck!
