I found your other post, 2-3 years you've been on them. That's why you feel more wds than others on a short taper. It doesn't matter if you were only taking low maintenance doses over those years, You still developed a physical addiction. People on subs for only a very short period like the 21 day plan don't really develop a physical addiction in that short time, or not very much of one. It varies from person to person which is why they report mild to no wd's.
Talk with your doctor and he/she can help you with a taper plan. Are you doing anything with recovery care? That is very important.
Good to know, I wasn't sure if they could be cut or not. Easier than trying to chop up pills then!
About jumping off, how would you rate the severity of the wd symtoms? And how long were you on subs altogether?
The info at the bottom (Suboxone/Subutex FAQ Part One) discuses a 21 day taper plan. You should be able to figure it out from there, but you should tell your doc what you want to do before you start. Sometimes people have difficulty when getting to small doses, and need to go back up a step and taper back down a bit slower those last couple steps.
HI DONT WAIST your money on withdrawal ease we have had several members try it and none said it workedany better then the thomas recipe you can find that on the lower right of your screen under the health pages....as for coming off sub you still have some tapering to do that stuff is a lot stronger then you think we have had members jump from just about every imaginable dose but most do well from 2mg or less just take your time where not aloud to discust taper plans in the forum but we can be breif take it slaw let your body be the final judge when to go down and the slower the better we have a member that really knows this stuff I will send him a message for you so he can post to you my expertice is with pills and methadone although simlalr sub has its own set of rules like methadone Henry will be along in a day or so to give you some good advise good luck and God bless.......Gnarly
Hi- Are you taking these under the guidance of a physician? That's the best way because we can't offer any type of taper plan for you; it's against the forum guidelines.
The trick is to decrease by small amounts over a period of time. Have you been involved in a Suboxone program? Aftercare etc...? The "withdrawalease" won't hurt but it may not change the symptoms very much. You will still go through withdrawal similar to withdrawing from your previous drug.
Your best move is to talk with the doctor. Good luck!
You should taper of those subs slowly, if you look at the bottom right of this page you'll find some info about tapering off subs. Generally when you are down to 1 mg you can jump off, or even split the pill further. Strips I don't know, cut them I suppose?
I don't know about withdrawal ease.
