Honey I have been down that road. Company insurance so I paid cash. Doc says it will take a year. After 2 months and near 1,000 dollars I just weaned down to 2mg. That part is easy. Getting off sub is pure hell where WD's can go on for more than 2 weeks. I went back to the hydros for 3 weeks and then quit the hydro CT in about a week using the Thomas recipe. Worked great for me but sub is a bich to come off of. Our stories of how we got to where we are are almost identical. I could have wrote that intro. I also took 15 hydro a day but to me sub is for oxy, herion, methadone, percocets. You can get off hydro in a week. Call in with the flu. Also when you stop sub don't take but half as much hydro as you used to take and wean down if you can but stay on hydro for 2 to 3 weeks to get that sub out and then drop the habit like a hot potato. Just my experince for what it's worth. Then seek out aftercare. That's my mistake Tex
If you even consider sub for your habit, I would definitely read the Health Pages - Members Experiences Coming Off Sub - Sub seems to run about 50/50 - with half the patients saying that it saved their lives and the other half saying that it destroyed theirs............with catapress/clonodine & valium & support with nutrition and people you should be able to get beyond the acute phase.......and after that an NA/AA or SMART recovery meeting would be a good thing to do for quite awhile................... If you have made numerous attempts to quit unsuccessfully and failed at them, or if you have placed yourself in jeopardy from arrest or physical harm from your dealings, you may want to try sub therapy. It isnt for first time quiters that have not suffered consequences of their use......... these folks need to put some personal effort into quiting a time or two before they opt for sub and educating themselves a great deal on the pharmacology of sub before they agree to the therapy. ..............
I am on tenncare which is tenncares medicaid program I called every dr in my area until I found 1 that took medicaid. Medicaid does pay for addiction services. It pays for all my dr visits, all my preacriptions everything. If u can't do that u should call your primary care physician tell him u think you are addicted go see him and I think he will either refer u to a sub dr who will take your insurance or prescribe u other meds to help with the withdrawels I'm currently on subozone, tenex, clonidine and valium all prescribed by my suboxone dr as I am currently tapering the suboxone to come off. But you should start now by only going to one doctor, tell him you want to quit the pills and he will help you I guarantEe it
i am on day 7 with the same habbit you had! i was useing for 3 years. i know you feel like **** but you will not die! although i am sure you feel like it cause lord knows i did! i also have medical card i shocked they havent found out !! but i know how you feel day 2 and 3 were the worst for me anyways all i did was cry and cry. tomorrow eat a good meal take a HOT SHOWER and move i know everything in you is saying no way but belive me you will feel better even if you just pick the house up alittle. read everything you can here this site helped me soooo much theres always someone here to help get some b6 b12 the hardest part is almost over you can do this
not sure about the sub....you might want to be honest with 1 doctor and maybe he can put you on a taper plan to ween you off. i been in your shoes and it is awful...days 2/3 were the worst for me. i think in about 2 more days you will feel alot better but mental wds can be just as bad...keep strong and get your life back. these pills are evil..good luck to you and keep posting...maria
Yes, but Im not sure if they would take a medical card, thats my insurance. And I do NOT want any RED FLAGS noted in my file, chart, records, or my insurance knowing about it. I damn sure can not afford to pay cash. I guess Im deathly afraid of seizures, strokes, etc after stopping cold. thanks!
What you should do is go onto the suboxone website, find a dr in your area that prescribes it, it DOES NOT have to be one u have been to before. You tell them the truth, you are addicted to hydro's and your addiction and needing them is what has caused you going to different doctors all u do is tell him the truth. That is what they are prescribing suboxone for is to help people with addictions.once u aere on it you will no longer want the hydros u won't need to go to different doctors to get scripts. As long as you do what he tells u too take your suboxone and only see him then u will be ok. I did this very same thing dr to dr to dr and finally went to a suboxone dr told him the truth and I have been clean and on subs for * year now
